Literally wardrobe growing

Amazing how much they can grow in a day. She is still pretty short and stumpy but the leaf growth esp on the new leaves is really quick. I'll get more pics when I repot her tomorrow.

Still waiting for the damn CFL's I ordered to come. Been ages! :cuss:
 
Morning all.

Here are some updated pictures. The small baby in the bg is called "White Moscow" which is White Russian x Lowryder.

Unfortunately the other Amnesia Lemon seed I had never took hold and died, so I started the White Moscow a couple of days ago.

Do you think my Amnesia Lemon needs a repot yet? There are 2 roots sticking out of the bottom of the pot. Do I just leave these be?

I was pretty surprised when that CFL turned up. I wasn't expecting it to be so friggin' big!!! It's a flowering bulb (low spectrum) and I'm still waiting for my light fixings and bulb for my 125watt CFL to turn up. So I'd rather put off the re-potting until I get another CFL in the wardrobe as I don't want the larger pot to put more distance between the plant and the light as I'm sure it's beginning to reach it's limits (the bulb that is!) as it is.

Hey guys, I notice I have 3 small bits of white root sticking out from the bottom of my plastic cup. Is it time to repot the plants and if so, does it need to be done urgently?

Also, is there a rule for a time when to repot? Like is it best to repot at the beginning of the day or the end?

No need to repot if you are just seeing roots. The cups are plenty big enough to support the plants for a while, and by transplanting too early, you lose one of the advantages of potting up, which is a well established rootball that uses the soil area efficiently.

As for the ideal time of the day to pot up, i don't think it matters. I would advise doing it when the soil is dry, then watering it in the new soil afterwards, since it makes the process much easier.
 
Okay she is 2 weeks, 2 days old. Here are a couple more pictures. I know she is still very young but I hope it's looking okay so far. I'm not sure what the brown spots are, but I hope it's nothing to worry about too much.

I'm just awaiting a couple of emergency blankets to cover my wardrobe (to replace the not-so-liked-foil) and the large CFL bulb fixings + stronger smaller CFL better suited for vegging. Oh and I've ordered some Biobizz Grow from recommendations found on here, so will begin to use that once I plant her in a bigger plot. I've decided not to plant her in a bigger pot just yet because I would rather better lighting was in place and she is old enough to use the Biobizz to minimise the shock of moving pots.

Any comments/advise is wanted and welcome. :)
 
I've decided that I'm going to have to move the light eventually as the plants get bigger and not only this, but every time I go to get a pair of shoes or a shirt out of my wardrobe, the light basically blinds the hell out of me and everything looks dark with loads of blind spots in my vision. Not good. :lol:

So tonight I'm going to use 2 self-tapping hooks and hand the EZ Hangers from them in my wardrobe and so the light is hanging how it should do.

It's an extremely tight squeeze and the light will just about fit (shouldn't foul on anything touch wood) at 90 degrees. I just hope the self-tapping hooks have a strong enough thread to hold the light fixing as with the bulb it's quite heavy.

I'll also need to use some foil or an emergency blanket to seperate my clothes from the lighting area as I'm sure that intensity of light will bleach my clothes.

Does everything look okay? I got some nutrients. Any idea when I should start using them (how regularly + also what sort of mix with water) on the bigger plant?

Guys will it get too hot in there?

I turned around the light so I don't get so blinded when I open the door. I also added some mylar emergency blanket to the 'clothes' side to keep it seperated some more.

Please give me your thoughts.

The setup is looking good, and that plant looks nice and healthy, but I think you need to consider some sort of airflow now. Ideally, a desk fan blowing on the plant, and an extractor fan venting the hot air from the top of the room., but even if it's just a couple of PC fans connected to a 12 volt adapter, it will be better than no air movement at all.

For your nutrient question, when to start using them will depend on what compost you are using, and how long it feeds for (which it should say on the pack somewhere), You usually won't need to use nutes in veg if you pot up every few weeks into fresh compost, since it will provide the nutes needed whilst the current pot is filling out with roots. If your soil is very lightly nuted, and your plants start showing deficiencies between pot ups, a half strength grow feed is usually enough to get them through to the next transplant.

Once you hit flowering, use the biobizz feeding schedule as a guide, although different strains very in their nutrient needs, so you may have to adjust feeds if your plants start showing any problems. With that said, the biobizz feeding schedule usually works just fine for me. I use the allmix feed instructions (although I am using standard multipurpose compost), and i don't use topmax, just grow and bloom.

Well I'm just giving it some nutes now as I'm not sure what is in the soil. The roots got to the bottom of the new pot really quick so it looks like the transplant went smoothly as there was no stoppage in growth on the plant roots and leaves.

I've just mixed up some BioBizz and some water. I just put in a small amount, like a small tip into a measuring jug and filled it to the brim with water. I'm just letting it stand for a while then I'll pour some into the bigger plant then just a drop into the smaller plant. I'll then see how the plants fair over the next couple of days. If they are showing any signs of burning then I know I've over-done it, and if it is still looking green and growing well I'll keep doing what I'm doing.

You've been a good help to me on this thread dude.

Oh and I won't be installing a fan. I know I should, but it will be too annoying and I really don't want the noise in my room all the top + it'll be blowing around the noisy mylar. The wardrobe gets opened often so I should be okay. If the plants start showing signs of lack of CO2 I'll have no option than to put a fan in.

To be honest, I really didn't wanna go to the extent I have done as this was meant as a lil bit of 'cheap' fun. It's still relatively cheap but now my wardrobe looks like a space ship and I've put more effort into it than I originally planned.

She's still going strong. Pretty stocky and getting bushier by the day. I'm keeping the light as close as possible to her so she doesn't have to stretch for light much. I know she isn't budding either but she is beginning to smell a bit too.

She has about 3 or 4 leaves which have developed into 5 'pronged' fan leaves so that's good.

The other one coming along too as well.

She is now 3 weeks old.
 
Well after I mentioned about nutrients on another thread, I think I've given mine a bit too many lol.

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures. It's only one leaf which seems to have gone quite yellow. Oh well I'll stop adding nutes for the time being and just give her water every 2-3 days whenever she is dry.

I know she looks wilted but that will be more due to the fact she is on her night cycle so she is sleeping!

Comments please guys. She seems more short, stumpy and dark green than most pictures I've seen of Marijuana @ 3 weeks.
 
The baby one I have says it harvests in 10 weeks from seed (auto-flowering White Moscow). First off, anyone know when flowering would start if it harvests in 10 weeks and do I just leave it on the same cycle as my bigger plant? Will it flower on 18/6 cycle okay?

It’s about 10 days old or so I guess.

Help please. :)
 
Guys – quick bit of help!

My main plant – one of its leaves went really yellow and the tip has gone really dry and brown. First off, is this likely to be nutrient burn? The other leaves seem fine – although the lower ‘first’ real leaves the plant developed have also browned.

If any leaves do look like they’re dying or gone yellow, am I best off just cutting it off? If so do I cut the entire fan leaf off or just the blade that is dying?

Right, I have potted up. I know there is a distinct lack of soil, but should be okay right? I ran out... d'oh.
