So I thought it would be cool to keep a journal of my first grow, Also its cool to watch the process and I want to see how I can improve from grow to grow, strain from strain. But that's future talk. I'm in the now and my closet looks pretty nice (I'll throw a pic of the set up soon; I'll need to find a camera or something.) But right now I got a bag of seeds threw them in and most of them took. They were some nice looking seeds, but that doesn't really mean anything with bag seed (I'm hoping for the best, but my sights are not set that high.) I pretty just want to get nugg off a plant that's it, it could be a bowl pack at best but its an experiment on soil and lighting. I'm using some organic soil i picked up at the local store, some potting soil mixed with vermiculite, perlite, mushroom compost, and some organic manure. I don't plan on using any added nutrients; I don't plan on vegging them that long. Then i have 2 150 watt lights, a 60 of a more red light the first two are a like blue green white? its a weird color but i think these girls will like it. That's just for now i have a fan in there too, not sure if imma keep it on 24/7 or just when the lights on.

that's a lot of text i need to type less.
So anyway run down of my setup
Perlite, vermiculite, organic potting soil, mushroom compost and manure. With a 1/2 a cup of bone meal mixed in the whole batch. (I mixed 3 bags potting soil, 1/2 a bag of manure and mushroom with 1 bag each or vermiculite and perlite. Oh and i have a bunch of wholes and rocks at the bottom of my pot, for drainage and a place for the roots to chill if i want to give them added nuts, if... But i figure i would throw them in a just like tray, with the nut solution and a bubblier. So that the nutrients have oxygen to readily absorb into the roots? IDK if that would help but i figure let it sit in that for a lil while and it will absorb. (just a theory). Anyway...im rambling, but this is a journal. MY journal hahahaha!.
I think ill put in two t-8s later for flower, Btw my space is about 3-4ft by 2 1/2ft The estimate is on the large size i don't have a height restriction because my grow space allows for another location to be moved to but that's to much work so imma say i got about 4 feet till the bottom of the lights at their peak. Ill coat the sides will aluminum foil at some-point.
So your probably like if your reading this what are the girls like!!! cause i mentioned them earlier but haven't said anything yet, so drum roll! I have 10 nice seedlings, and one with its shell cracked and shes just chilen. So like i said their just bag seed, so male female idk. But hopefully they go female. (any suggestions on tips to help them fem out they are all about 1-2in tall at most, they don't even have their second set of leaves./But im not worried about it.)(pics soon hopefully, while writing this i got the munchies so i found a camera forgot to get some chips and am in the midsts of finding the upload cord.) You could say their cute at best, im hoping they grow up to be some fine ass houchies.
(some high thoughts: amozite - multi-mineral? head good things about it for vegetables/ i dont like the thought of high metals and minerals in bud? i figured the plant would know what to do with it but ill have to find a scholarly article before i try anything. (i used a hole bag on my vegetable garden and i have an outdoor lady chillen their/she started second week in July but shes got some junk in that trunk and the darkest green leaves Ive seen/ could be because of the horse manure in the garden idk.
Silica-read someones journal post about it, sounds to me like steroids for the ladies. i like it the sounds of it and ill look into it for my next grow.
Nuts?- I like the soil grow technique, ill let the rhizosphere* i think that's what its called(which is what the mushroom composts for) do all the breaking down of my plants foods so they can just grow grow grow. also i think that it allows the plant to utilize nuts when they need them. Since the lights not adequate i figure i wont blast her full of nuts and shock her into like a cocaine filled growth spurt.....journals are pretty fun and god i hope no one reads this my spellings awful. I'm mostly posting this because ill forget it down the road (which is what journals are for.).
3 1/2 x 2 = 7sqFT??? 150watt light produces like 2600 lumens x 2 = 5200 + 60w 500-800 lumens? not sure on that one so ill aim low at 500 haha how about lower 420. so like 5500 lumens over 8sqft thats like 600lumens a sq ft?? if i add in the 2 t-8s that will be an extra 6200ish i think so i think im all set for vegging with my setup i might just add the t-8 for flower. But i read about the law of inverse something that says that like ever ft the light is away from the light diminishes in potency???? something like that.
Aight that's enough for my first post ill post again next week with some pics so i can judge weather i need some light support...haha puns. GNITE WORLD, well its 1:51 so HAVE A GOOOOD AFTERNOON INTERNET READERS!!
p.s TIP on life, have fun with it. No matter what it is.
