that would work even better with a reflector behind those bulbs, most of your light is radiating off into space. This is 10 23 watt cfls veggin 8 plants works great, temps stay right at 75
Yeah man if you are gonna put loads of CFLs in there then why not just get one simple 250w hps or maybe a 400w? They are not gonna be much more money than buying all those CFLs and they output much much much more lumens, wich is what matters in lightingthey wont be good enough.
You need the 23w versions at least. Get rid of the GU10 sockets use standard household adaptors without protective covers as you need to get the lights within 3inches of the plant.
With 10x23w you should be good for a 1plant grow.
Personally for the watts your using why not look into 150w or 250w HPS?

A few small fans should go plenty far assuming your ambient temps are lower to begin with.--IMHO if it's an open area you shouldn't have any problem with heat from CFL or low-wattage HPS, but then you're wasting light and should really have a reflector minimally if using a top-fixture, but in an enclosed area you can/will cook things with enough fixtures. I would suggest you either way consider some form of reflector, even a duct pipe (rolled up thin sheet steel or aluminum?) works great fixed to a 2X4 with the appropriate holes for wiring or fixtures.Yeah. I was worried about heat in a confined space. I didn't realize that would be a problem with CFLs aswell. I clearly need a new plan to have a vegging cupboard.
