local vs dispensary

so id put my bud up against most you can find. not bragging, really give it a hard 7. but im seeing people that would rather go pay fifteen a gram than twenty-five an eighth, and i just dont get it. i mean, one, you can only get so high. two, um, i forgot two. there is a definite impact from these dispensary purists, i am just wondering how it is all going to shake out. too bad we couldn't have a more grass roots farmers market. see what i did there? where maybe growers could just trade a variety of stuff. that would be cool but maybe makes too much sense. how does the dispensary affect you, if you have them in your area.? people that i know seem slightly discouraged. i only grow for myself and the missus, but in Massachusetts, seems legal has equated to maybe greed.

Growing for profit doesn't necessarily equate to greed and not everyone loves growing so much they will do it for cheap
Cuts are expensive and so is good equipment
Grow your own and don't buy mine ...problem solved

90% of people are not fully evolved and will consume worthless garbage with a label on it. Ever been to mcdonalds? I've seen people order plain burgers from there, when the condiments are the entire trick of the trade, to selling steamed cartilage burgers. Most people with daily allowance are not fully evolved mentally stable human, simply put. Placebo and brand loyalty define legal Cannabis from here on our.

I don't buy from dispensaries. I've been in them since there's about twenty within a square mile of where I live. Had to see what was up. But I agree with you. I have friends that buy from dispensaries so I've smoked a bunch of stuff from them. I have not been impressed. There has been the occasional tasty offering but those are few and far between. People always prefer my weed over what they bought at the dispensary. I don't sell anything and I grow much more than I can use myself so my friends always leave with a free bag and a smile on their face. :weed:

Home growers have produced absolute shit weed for decades, why would a dispensary be any different. Like any venture most product is bad, some are good yet the defining factor is who advertises the most aggressively. AN would be a good example in the nutrient industry.

To call consumers ''stupid'' for being subjected to decades worth of psychological advertising manipulation is naive at best. Every single one of us here have fell for that multiple times in one industry area or the other, you can't know every trick in the book. People smarter than us get paid to find ways to take our money for shit we don't need or shit that is lower quality than available elsewhere. Specifically for canna you also have the clear gap between smoker knowledge and grower knowledge. A growers understanding of quality takes into account more than just potency.. but that is irrelevant if the consumer doesn't care for much else.
Xtsho, I'd also leave with a smile if it was as good as dispensary and free. Cmon, you set yourself up for that one :fire:.

It's not that I disagree with the sentiment of the thread, but it's nothing special to any industry so not worth getting worked up over.

Excellent points, it’s the Starbucks coffee in the hand wearing the Polo shirt with the Chocolate Hawain Kush in their Nike fanny pack. I also enjoy sharing, take care of my plow guy with a quart jar bonus each season. Trust me, he don’t go to the dispensary

Well, I think the answer is pretty simple. Most people who don't consume/smoke /etc don't have anyone on the street to call, even if it was legal. I don't think those people are even thinking about it like that. They just know that it's legal. "Where do we go?" "To the place." "I saw the ad/billboard/what have you".

I know plenty of people who will never step foot in a dispensary for their own reasons. Plenty more will just go because it's what you do now, as far as they're concerned. The street = getting arrested. I don't plan on going to retail outlets, most of the people I know won't either, but a few probably will. I've been to Denver one time, smoked the weed, and coming from a place where all I could get was top mids at best, it was cool, but didnt blow me away.
I grow better flower than I've ever seen on the street, and my friends agree. It's better than what I saw in Denver but I only went to like 2 places so that isn't saying much.

Nice. I haven't bought from a dispensary in over a year now. There are a couple that I've found that consistently have the bomb, and a couple times I've got really good shit for $75 oz out the door (GDP once, that I still have a couple nugs of) at another place. But I've been really happy with mine, and it seems to have a lot more flavor than the dispensary shit.
