Lollipop in flower..?

Yes yes I know I could use the search button and find a general answer, but I haven't found one as specific as I'm looking for.

So as seedlings I mainlined all my plants and this girl STRETCHED in the last few weeks of veg, towered way over the rest so I had to raise the others and she still grew taller.

I just started flowering December 31st and I can already see she's gonna stretch ridiculously again so my question is..

Should I/is it safe to lollipop in early flower? And if not, how should I go about dealing with this...

From the looks of the pic no lollipop needed yet. Id wait till day 21, but there are so many ways to garden. Nice job vegging those beauties!!!

Okay, just worried because many of the side branches have already overtaken some of the main colas and there are still A LOT of small side branches that are ready to shoot up and grow.. it's gonna be a mess in a couple weeks I feel.

And thank you lol.
They're MUCH better than my first grow.

I'm telling ya man, I have a feeling she's gonna stretch like a mf and screw the rest over space-wise lmao.

I really hope not. That'd be amazing if she only slightly stretched and just grew fat dense colas

Yeahh once I saw how much it was stretching and how thin the leaves were I knew it was sativa-dom. Just hope it doesn't have a stupid long flowering time like the sativa I got last time did... Took 13 weeks and she still wasn't fully done.

Why lollipop at all (please don't say bigger yields) Look into LST you can manipulate your branching anyway you want it to grow. You have in the area of 2-3 weeks into flowering to train branches before plant rigor mortis sets in (stiffening branches) until then bend and tie your tallest tops at 90 degrees if needed to get them leveled with the rest of your tops. Do take care when doing this tho.

I'd be lollipopping to get rid of the ridiculous amount of small tiny branches underneath that'd grow into each other into a clusterfuck. Once they start growing buds it won't be good to have 20-30 branches all crammed into each other not able to breathe

Sucker branches I understand, it's the practice of removing perfectly green leaves all the way up to the last 6 inches to the top of each branch (thus looking like a lollipop) that's baffling. So yeah if your lopping suckers branches fine, more of a pruning thing then. So my bad I should have ask you to clarify that first.

You're good. It's like this all around the bottom of the plant. I also included a couple pictures of some of the main colas.

The last 3 pictures are a White Russian I have going, it looks female so far (fingers crossed..), but the side branches from the very bottom of the 8 main colas, have grown up and above the actual main colas.. covering them so I have to constantly adjust them. Idk what to do with those either. I feel like that'll have some kind of negative effect

Those look great. The LST will work for the higher side branches just bend and tie off.

imo your goal should be to not have these suckers cut off but to have a plant which is fully productive everywhere depending on situation, i usually will snip off the bottom 2-3 branches up to possibly 7 depending how monster it is for my grow but you need to realize the time spent growing these suckers then cutting them off and waiting the extra week accumulates over time to less yield over time cuz ur snipping so much.
if u time things right for your setup you only need to cut a few branches off the bottom (sometimes) before flower, giving a channel of airflow above the top of the soil and below the canopy, rising upwards to your exhaust fan, remember that leaves are transparent, light goes through them, and that the fan leaves act as power plants... they are not shadowing anything with the proper light penetration. hps and Led are very different games look into canopy penetraiton

in my experience, snipping branches in early flower is ok. It'll slow the stretch down a bit but nothing significant. imo snipping off the little popcorn buds around day 10ish is worth the slowdown in the stretch because the flowers will put on more weight. Then i'll go back in after the stretch and defoliate a lot of fan leaves. But remember, when pruning and defoliating use your head and try to keep symmetry. But your plants are looking good homie keep it up.
