Long flowering sativas

I got a whole jar of brick seeds that throw nothing but 16+ week plants with fruit, spice, and candy notes.

I also have some brick seeds that throw nothing but sqaut cat piss smelling plants.

For sure a regional thing.

My friggin Dalat is in week 4 of flower and hasn't even shown sex yet LOL

I couldn't tell you. They were in a qp I bought. I liked the weed so much I kept the seeds.

Fruit, Spice and Candy sounds great. The cat piss smelling herbs I find disappointing. I've already got enough of that going on around here with real-cat-piss, nothing sweet about that aroma.

There have been a couple that taste like fruit, coffee, caramel with hints of sandalwood. I wish I would have cloned one of those and kept a mom.

i jave one i call nameless..actually a street name where i first grew it but.. ive never smoked anything like it
i usuall only grow during the holidays for highest demand. sells out while its still growing lol

my most expensive plant..
small buds, i mean like grape sized and colas the size of a hot dog..
but also my frostiest.
smells so creamy and of holiday spices.. it quite literally smells of nutmeg and eggnog

I have not. I keep planning to try it and I have read all about it, but have not done it myself.
I have given 6month cure times in jars with some sativas and dont get me wrong, I have had FIRE sativas
but once again when you look at the overall work required and the end product it is not so much better than a good hybrid to make the extra investments worth it really. Even still I will continue having fun with pure sativas from time to time.

Its a hybrid but I got some that are straight mint.

I never had the strain thin mint but that's what comes to mind when I grow this.

Funny thing is most I have that I like come from herm lines.

They herm very little and only lower buds and the seeds come out just like before.

I don't keep in breeding, I just have some many seeds from a run or two that I will never grow all them.

I gave a dude a c note for these. He gave them to me but I still gave him the money.

Its a friends dad and I know that bag to be ten years old and he claims some seeds in it could be 20-30 years old. I'm excited to throw a bunch out next year.

I've searched for and collected sativas for the last decade+ and on numerous occasions have grown 'landrace' genetics. I have been disappointed every single time. There is no doubt that searching through a bag of exotic beans is fun and exciting and I often equate that feeling to playing the lottery or buying scratch-and-win tickets. I mean think about it, what if you find the next big thing? But so far for me it's always ended in disappointment. The smoke is almost always unique with mostly unpleasant aromas and flavors (there are a few exceptions of course) and the highs could be largely classified as unrefined and not necessarily fun or pleasant.

Landrace genes have been romanticized in the past 5 years or so probably because a lot of cannabis is just plain bland and boring these days but I will put tried-and-true sativas (SSH, SLH, Amnesia Haze, Kali Mist, SAGE, OTH, Dr Grinspoon) up against anything from any breeder working with 'landrace' stuff.

If you're really looking for great sativas, outcross or f2 any of the above to other far leaning sativas. Why not stand on the shoulders of the breeders who have been refining these lines for the last 4 decades? Will that produce more blandness? Not in my experience.

On another note, it's good to see some fellow sativa lovers on these boards.

I'm love my Indas hence my name on here but I actually was given some sat plants this year I'm totally thrown off beacause I've got nice large plants well into flower/bud mode and these two sats are just massive and havnt even begun to start yet ........got sick family members that like indaca dom strains .......I just don't ever grow sativas but I'm anxious to see how long they take to finish and how they are smoke wise ..........
