Long time smoker 1st Tim growing;questions/advice

Like the tittle says been a long Time smoke and this is my first attempt at growing and I have some questions, plus any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Just put my germinated seeds into a plastic cup ( 2 big bangs auto fem. and one cheese it was a freebie) I don't have money until two weeks from now so what I've done is plant one in fertilizer which i had lying around (vigoro fruit bloom) then planted the other two In a mix of dirt and some vigoro.

Firstly I'm worried the first one I planted using all vigoro fertilize will burn up the seedling, would that happen?

secondly I plan on to transplanting them once they grow a bit to a hydro setup. would that cause to much stress?

A little about my setup, Ive bought a 5x5x7 grow tent which I plan on using during the hydro in the meantime I have them outside( live in miami usually good weather for growing70-85 but at the moment it's lowest at 60; would that kill the plants or growth?)

thinking about buying t5 fluorescent or 400w lights for veg( big difference in the results?)

plan on buying fox farm for nutrients once I get the hydro setup.

So any advice would be much après tied as I don't want to mess this up, thanks in advance homies.

welcome

I was in your place two years ago

best advice I can give you, is to do a lot of read up

T5 (specially the HO type =high output) is great for Veg (Mj plants only need about 1/3 of the light intensity in Veg as in flowering to thrive and grow) I use em myself, best part about em compared to a 400W HID is they run pretty cool (LEDs are even cooler but more costly to buy) and in Miami I guess hot wether is common, but maybe you have AC installed in your house then ? like I got heaters here in cold scandinavia ? (keep the temps around 74-78F much over 80F and then plant will begin to suffer a bit, over 90F and you can get in to trouble)

IMO it would be a bad idea to mix soil with hydro (read up on PH of your grow medium for MJ)

sure its fine to start em outside, just remember, you might bring in bugs aso I would keep indoor and outdoor apart, if your short on space grow one out doors

and remember Auto`s will flower around week 3-5 no matter what, wile reg plant`s need more then 11 hrs dark/night to switch the flower hormones on and I mean total dark

do you have some ventilation for that tent ? fresh air (Co2) is as important as good strong light

T5HOs can flower a MJ plant with ok results, but a HID or LED will do better (if all other factors is in place) so a 400W HPS for flowering would work great with a T5 fixture for Veg (I started out that way) tho if heat can be a problem for you LEDs might be better (I enjoy my LEDs) or if your on a budget, a 400W digital ballast that can run both MH for Veg and HPS for flowering, but you will need some good ventilation and IMO a cool tube on that or you will struggle with high temperatures

best of luck

oh boy... take the 2 weeks you have before you get your money and read everything you can. did you really plant straight into fertilizer? kiss that one goodbye! i just switched 3 from soil to hydro yesterday but if i were a newby like you, i would start with hydro if i wanted hydro. them other seeds are probably toast too depending on how much fert you put in your soil. plants don`t need any food the first couple weeks. 60 deg wont kill your plants! i get that at lights out in the house this time of year. your prob is gonna be when things heat up down there, get a dehumidifier for when you`re running your ac.

Yeah, if you want to do it all right you have a lot of reading and learning ahead of you. Not being ignorant but somebody that would plant a seed straight into fertilizer and also wants to grow hydro just doesn't make sense. Its up to you of course but why don't you start off your first one or two runs with a simpler soil grow and learn how a plant develops and what it needs from start to finish. I think it would make you a better grower all around. Soil can be somewhat forgiving. Hydro not so much.
Good luck.

First. Go buy a bag of SEED STARTER soil. It has very little or no fertilizers. Then get a fluorescent bulb and put it very close. Then leave them alone and read for the next week. Come back and adjust the light. Leave them alone and read for another week. By this time you should understand enough to know how brutally you killed the first seeds and should have enough of the basics down to make it through your first attempts
