So my plant started sprouting what I think some call white hairs, i dont really remember the parts of a plant from elementary school, but, the hairs are at each branch near the main stem, and, at the very top. The hairs are geting longer and longer and there are more of them, but, nothing else is happening. Maybe im just impatient, but, when do I start to see buds grow?

Those are preflowers, you will start forming buds in atleast 2 weeks after 12/12. Just be patient.

mine also has white hairs and its about two feet tall, some of the hairs look a little red too. How long do you put your plant in without any lights for? I am growing mine in a pot and its mostly outside. I don't have any indoor lights, and don't want the plant to get much bigger, and how long do the buds get?
Do preflowers mean im like guaranteed to get buds eventually? This is my first plant and ive always heard people say my first plant probably wont flower, especially since im just using tap water and not checking ph.
Ok, new question, how much bud can i expect from this plant? I am going to try to post a pic.
P.S.- i know this is not the most healthy plant, or the best picture, its my first and I just want to get an idea of what results I can expect.

It depends on strain but you could top it if you don't want it to get too tall

Pre flowers determines sex and maturity,you will definitely get buds if you don't kill it,and it depends on strain,and many other variables to know even guess yield.
I have 2 plants growing under natural sunlight indoors. They are 3 months now and I didn't know about the 12/12. Started that a week ago and now I have white hairs coming out everywhere.
Just hang in there and make sure your 12 hours of dark is totally dark. I also topped mine when they were younger, 1 is about 30" and the other is 24" - bushy as hell.
Be good to them and read all you can from this site - its AWESOME!!

You should be good as long as it doesnt turn in to a hermaphrodite. Just dont overwater or overfertilize it.
