Longer Dark Cycle?

I was wondering if I could get away with putting my plants into a slightly longer dark cycle? Say like 13 or 14 hours of darkness?

This would help keep things a little more stealth for my situation as I have people over right at the time the lights and fan come on. An hour or 2 longer darkness would bye me a little more time to get them out of my house.

It would also save a little in electricity, etc.

It will speed up maturation & lesson harvest. I've done 13 & 14 hours dark, I'm doing 12.5 dark right now no biggie. Theres Math to it, cant remember where I read it or exactly how to apply it. Google it if you like.

the flowering hormone that triggers flowering is broken down by light, once it reaches that threshhold needed to trigger flowering you can add all the hormone in the world and it wont matter. If that really worked alot of people would do it, but it doesnt so they dont. It's a nice theory and i can see where it comes from. You cant speed up flowering by adding more darkness.

It's fine if you have no choice i guess, it will have a negative effect, but it shouldnt be too bad.

Yeah, thats one of them. The plants leaves have 2 less hours everyday to perform photosynthesis and make energy for new/more growth. like i said b4 though i dont think it will have too much of an effect.
