longtime user 1st grower

started puff-n and selling over 30 years ago.never stuck a seed in soil til bout 2 mos. ago.its in planting soil in a south facing window.what do i look for and what can i exspect.

look for someone looking into that window. I wouldnt expect much more to be honest.

negative? no way man, im not being neg at all. Its not in my personality lol. ...I joke alot but never serious. But really though, if its been 2 mnths and all you did was put a seed in the soil then I wouldnt expect anything.

You can't just put the seed in some soil in a pot and expect it to grow miraculously.

u put the seeds 2 months ago in the soil?
they should have sprouted buy now.
did u germinate them first?
and what kind of soil r u useing?
and are u just useing the widow lights or r u useing another type of light with that?

what i gathered was ..

1. no sprouting first, just dropped seed in dirt.
2. placed pot in window for sunlight.

Im not gonna criticize him for it cuz I did the same thing before.. granted I was only a teen and it was the early 80s but I still did the same thing lol.

hey :sandmonkey: i droped like 5 seeds a couple of months ago and 4 of them grew real quick in the window too.so u could do it but could take longer sometimes

what about light cycles? in a window your only gonna get about 1 hour or 2 at most of direct sunlight.

very true but i kept it there and for some reaso it stayed growing
then after i brought it in the house cuase of winter over here
ur def going to need more then just a window light to make it grow the right way
but starting a plant to sprout and a little more is fine in the window as long as it aint too cold there

exactly. I don't know of any strains that would be flowering now given the amount of sunlight available (in the northern hemisphere).

no,no,no they sprouted are bout 6-8 in. tall w/ 3-4 sets of leaves.i have noexp. at all growing .30 plus years wholesale-ing.retired that side many years ago and am simply growing for the beautythey get about 10 hours indirect about half id say is direct im also at 4500 ft elavation

if it has been 2 months and still not sprouted i really doubt thm ever sprouting ill dig it up slowly where u put the seed and find it and see what the hell its doing.and if it has some roots on it coming out il take it and put it like a 1/8 or 1/4down under the dirt u dont want to put the seed too deep in the soil.
or ill just start over and germinate the seed first just take the seed and put it in some toilet paper fold it over the seeds and wet it nice and good the either put by the widow for a couple days or when a root comes out or put seeds in a dark cup with room temp water that been siting out for at least a day so it could get cleaned up from the tap chemicals in it then drop the seed and wait to the root comes out.if ur going to put it in Tp make sure its always damp dont let it dry out or just put it in a plastic baggy and tape it closed and it should keep the moisture in it.then when its done then drop it in the soil not to deep less then a inch

as ive only been on comp. few months its not easy navigating this site.i think there doing fine given time of year what im asking is what do i exspect in the way of its flowering at some point.will they go thru spring and summer and than "bud" in fall.ive never even had a house plant ive really got no clue

u need more light other then just useing the window light
whats the temp over there like?
ur going to want a nice bushy plant and buy useing ony the light in the window it wont get bushy and will strech on search for more light and get tall with few leaf sites witch will make fore less buds sites on the plant.and at the time u think u want to flower it u will need 12hours of light and 12 hours of non light mostly complete darkness

well buy a window grow not to exspect much and if goes all theway and threw flowering little bud if much at all on it
all depending on the light from the window

Welcome to RIU man! this is a great place to know everything you could ever need to know about herb. There's a lot of great people who love to help you out. As far as your question goes, its all about the amount of light it gets. A plant in it's vegetative stage (while its growing) needs about 18 to 24 hours of light a day inside. and 12 hours of light and twelve hours of Complete darkness in its flowering stage

if you can I'd suggest getting a couple cfls and throwing that plant in a closet or something.
