Those 2 things sticking out at every node will turn into new growth if you top or anything, they're just waiting for their chance to grow. Every mj plant has them at every node. The preflowers will pop out between those and the growth of the flower branch above the fan leaf they're attached to.

Glad I learned this, thanks elf.

I TRANSPLANTED BOTH PLANTS FROM SOIL TO A DWC SYSTEM

So last night I decided to transplant my 2 plants to a DWC system I had built. I did this because I was not able to keep my temps any lower than 82 and that was only because I left the doors to my grow box wide open. If I shut the doors on my grow box then the temps would get up close to 90. So last night I did it. Once I removed the plants from their soil and washed the roots off the plants were very droopy and not looking good at all. Twelve hours later I'm looking at them and noticing they have COMPLETELY perked back up and look excellent. Wow, mj is a very strong plant with some awesome self healing powers.

Last night I adjusted the ph down to 6.1 and added some Fox Farm Grow Big at the weakest suggested dosage on the bottle. This morning I checked the ph and it was at 6.4 and holding. This morning I added some Fox Farm Big Bloom at the weakest suggested dosage and adjusted my ph and ended up with a ph of 5.2 but I left it because I am pretty sure it will bump itself back up without my help.

The lighting setup is pretty shady and rigged up because I'm having trouble finding a good way to set up CFL's on this 5Gallon bucket. Currently I have 4x 26watt 2700k's and 2x 42watt 6500k's, which is the same setup I had going in my grow box before I transplanted to the DWC setup.

This is my very first grow ever and my first attempt at any sort of hydroponics, in this case bubbleponics (DWC). If you guys notice anything I can improve or change, please feel free to post. I would greatly appreciate any comments or input or suggestions!

Here are some pics of the new setup after the plants have been in the 5Gallon bucket for 12 hours. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks for stopping by to check out my grow!

Hey lulutheblack, Looking good there bro! If I were you, i'd look up how to LST (Low Stress Training). There a few great guides here on RIU forums to get you started with it. I say this because, your little buddies you have now, are right about the right age when you can start LST. Also, a bit of Mylar wouldn't hurt. I bought a "Emergency Blanket" at Walmart for like 2 bucks. The stuff is way more reflective than aluminim foil. and dirt cheap, a worthy buy.

I've got plenty of reflective material but haven't come up with a way to put it up. Not sure if I will because I read that white painted walls do a good deal of reflection themselves. I've got them smothered in CFL's right now but I may change the light setup some as they get older.

As far as LST, I've definitely considered it and read up on it. But here is my take on it. I have already stressed my girls by transplanting from soil to DWC and I'm kind of worried about doing LST now that I have made that drastic change. These are autos and I feel if I do LST combined with the transplanting that it will be too much change and hurt my yeild and be too much stress. What do you think?

Basically it's hard to make decisions like that because I have no experience at all in any of this. I'm just kind of winging it, ya know? I'm just trying to focus on keeping them alive at this point lol

Ok so I couldn't resist and I put up the reflective materials haha. Just used one of those car windshield shade things and wrapped it around my 5gal bucket. It'll do for now.

Here's the way i see it, if you feel that LST will compromise your potential yield, then don't LST the poor baby. It's your call, and since i'm about as new to this, as you, I would have to agree with ya lol.

Good luck man!

Quick update...

Before I transplanted to DWC, one of my two plants was not growing as quickly as the other. I'm pretty sure it's just the genetics because everything has been the same for both from seed to now. Anyway, one of them became droopy leafed since about 24 hours of transplant to DWC. The other didn't show droopy leaves. The one with droopy leaves is the same one that is growing slower. I raised the water level in the 5 gallon bucket trying to get rid of the droopy leaves. The next morning both plants were droopy. I lowered the water even lower than it was initially and the healthier plant perked right back up looking great after only 12 hours time. The weak one still has droopy leaves and nute burn but the nute burn is only on one bottom leaf.

So to date at 13 days I have one extremely healthy and thriving plant and one weak slow growing droopy leafed plant with very slight nute burn.

Using fox farm liquid nute trio at half strength and ph is 5.8 and temps are 71 to 82 when lights are on and 71 when lights are off.

DAY 14 PICTURE UPDATE

Day 14. Not much to say but I'm updating with some pictures. One still growing and doing just fine, as it has since sprout. The other still acting like it's riding the short yellow bus, as it has since sprout.

How do they look???? Any suggestions????

I have a plant that is growing slower that the others also. Yet it has the biggest roots. I dont get.

How many airstones doe you have? I suggest 1 per plant. When I got 1 airstone per plant they took off.

I have 2 pumps and 4 air stones

It must just be genetics...

I think the growth is about right on bro, might be the runt of the two, who knows for sure. I wouldn't worry all too much, but just keep a close eye on them..

I also read somewhere that neon-green-ish looking leaves is related to a mag deficiency? (By all means correct me if thats wrong!!)

Good luck!

I got curious after you mentioned that it could be a magnesium deficiency and stumbled across this... http://www.greenmanspage.com/guides/nutrientdisorders.html

But it's still so hard to say. Diagnosing a nute problem is not easy!

Yea man, give her some time, i believe with some tender loving care, she'll turn out OK, and probably here in the next few weeks, explode!

Good luck bro!

I can see growth speeding up each day. No doubt! I leaned down to smell it last night and WOW. It's starting to smell! I'm now worried that odor is going to bea serious issue for me soon.

Once they grow some roots they will explode if everything else is in place. No doubt! Good luck, I'll be checking in to see how they turn out for you.

DAY 19 PICTURE UPDATE

Day 19. Again I have 2 plants. One healthy plant and one very slow growing plant. The healthy plant has shown lots of growth while the other has hardly grown at all. I have been looking for signs of sex but unless I am mistaken, I don't see any yet. The smell is getting stronger though. My PPM is around 1130 and res temps are staying between 65 and 72. Temp at plants is 77 with lights on and 72 with lights off. Ph is consistently between 5.8 and 6.1.

Still looking good. Only problem I see is the main fan leaves on bottom are yellowish.

This one looks wilted a little and has hardly grown at all lately.

My vote is for the transplant shock! I'd give them a little dose of B1 then give them some time.. They might recover nicely! Next time I'd start the seeds in rockwool or go with clones in this system...

Cheers!
