It's got bits in it, so it would have to be strained (at least, in order to use my sprayer it would). I don't think there's a problem doing that (straining) as far as getting the buggsies to the plants. I wish I could scan the back of the Dr. Earth box. Either I do that, or I have to type in all the microbes that go into this stuff. I can also make a tea with it (dry product), and then they recommend using the leftover solids again for more feeding. As for the SPT, it's a straightforward 1oz./gal. for regular strength, which is for starts or healing sick plants. You can use half strength for maintenance, but not flowering or fruiting as it will delay. Or, if you have stressed plants you can use it at double regular strength to boost growth on established plants.

It can be used with all plants, but not with root crops like carrots, potatoes, etc. & lettuce / cabbage. For everything else it beats, Superthrive & Root 66 hands down. Good schtuff. I just made my Dr. Earth tea out of the drippings of some soil that I decided to flush along with some worm castings. That mix is going to go to some of my cedars and very likely my redwood. However, I just discovered that Dr. Earth makes a fert that's for azaleas and rhododendrons that says it's also good for EVERGREENS. That would cover my cedars and the redwood. Last night they got a dose of SPT.

Just to give everyone an update on SPT in Hydro. After not seeing anything happen to the two resivoirs that contained chlorinated water and hydorgen peroxide I setup an all organic DWC. I have a 6 site 3gal DIY DWC filled with 3gal of Pur filtered water. To that I added 3tbs each of Neptunes Harvest fish/seaweed 2-3-1, NH seaweed 0-0-1, and finally BMO SPT. I have 6 rooted and established clones workin in that. So far that setup is working great!!! I see all the fuzy hairs growing. Plants are doing fine so far. It works!
I also added to my DIY areo flowering set up. I added 10oz to my 20gal rez. I all ready had GH Maxibloom and Coolbloom working for few days at 1000ppm. I left it low at 1000pm on the advice that SPT might over nute your plants. Usally at this stage I'm suppose to be around 1600ppm. So far its been over a week and the SPT did not cause any clogs to my pump that pushes my nutes. Nor did it clog any 1/4in tubbing, sprayers, or my power head I use to "stir" and airate my nutes. After adding SPT my roots EXPLODED!!! But i can't tell if its because of the SPT. But my roots did become more white and fuzzy after adding the SPT.
I didn't bother straining, bubbling, or anything when useing SPT in a hyrdo setup. After giving the bottle a good shake, I added it strait to my rez and nutes.
Bottom line. It works in a 3gal DIY DWC at 1tbs per gal of water added to your regular nute program. Also, it does not clog any pumps, tubbing, or spray heads.
I think BMO should put more research into implementing their product for Hydro use.

goingreen....I live right on the Cedar River but we haven't floated it yet. We did dig out my blowup boat and we are going to try it. Neighbor sells tubes but the boat is here and free. 14.00 a tube. I have no idea where the Buffalo River is. I will have to do a search for it.

Answer.. About the delay warning on the bottle. I talked to a friend, who has been using it for a few years. He says, he pushed it up to 4 times the dose and saw no serious delay - but he did see signs of overfeeding. He thinks thats why the advise against big doses. Too many Myco Fungi feeding your roots could cause that, makes sense to me. Both he & I agree, use the last two weeks of flowering is kind of a waste.. since you already have a good population of mycho fungi established by then. During the first 6 weeks of flowering - I do use it, just not the last 2.

I looked around the web & found allot of info on Mycho Fungi. It seems they do reproduce & die off at a pretty even rate in nature. Since, the SPT is a more concentrated form - it makes sense to me, overdosing would cause over population. Too many little fungi all trying to feeding your roots at once, could cause overfeeding. A condition that you would not normally see in nature.

Since he sells it on Ebay & I don't know if their email system is really snoop proof or secure - I avoid talking about Mary. He advises SPT works on all plants - except root crops like potatoes & stuff like that. Plus Seamaiden found some info advising against using it with cabbage or maybe it was lettuce. I'll check with her about that.. But I'm not using mine for lettuce.. LOL

Sorry about missing the info on the labe about flowering. My lable arrived damaged.

I believe this is a point you brought up before. Since you're not suppose to use any nutes in the last two weeks of flowering, SPT should not effect a flowering schedual.
As soon as I run low on the GH nutes I plan on making guano and casting teas for my hydro setups.
I just hope that the makers and sellers of SPT dont let capitolizim get the best of them. We don't need anymore expesive organic nutes like AdvancedHydropoincs pimping mother earth.

So you're using those PUR self-contained filters that use gravity? I've got one, too, but each filter is $10 per at the local Walmart (more at Lowe's I'm betting, I'm itching to take a ride, too, so maybe I'll take a run that takes me by Lowe'sdown), and when I throw one away it just irks me. There's got to be something that can be reused in there! But, it's all full of the crap that comes up with our well water.
Actually, looking at some of our drippers (irrigation) from last year and seeing how crusted up they are, I can totally see how we end up with the caves and all those beautiful formations that we have around here. I can also see how I end up with a layer of mulm (minerals) in every toilet tank. Hoo boy, talk about hard water!
Ohso, I have found EXTENSIVE research on micorrhizae, I don't remember where I saw the bit about not using it on cruciferous vegetables, though. I have seen some excellent comparison pix though, pine grown with and without, mature madrone dosed with and showing it from one year to the next, and mostly agricultural and landscape/horticultural research. It can certainly be translated, though.

Hello everyone,
I just found this forum and I have been trying to read all the pages on the topic of bat guano and SPT. I am excited to get some of this and incorporate it into my feeding program. Let me tell you what I have been using so far on my kids. Well they are actually not kids more like teenagers, lol! growing big.
All are in large probably 3 - 4 ft round holes with custom mix of amendments, compose, soil, 65% earthworm mix, perlite and vermiculite. Plants right now are between 3 ft and almost 6 ft depending on different strains. All looking incredibly healthy and green.
For nutes with been Maxsea Soluble Seaweed Plant Food. I find this to be very good overall. I only fert once a week or every two weeks with it. I have now quit using Max Sea and switched over to to following fert routine. One week I make a Sea Bird Guano tea and let it cook in the sun for a few days and then give them between 2-4 gallons each of it. Then I do mormal watering for another week or so and then go to Bat Guano Tea same formula and mixing letting the tea steep for a few days in the sun. As mentioned kids are doing very well but as proud parents we always want are kids to grow up to be the best possible, lol!
So after reading about the SPT I am ordering some and wondering what I can expect on very well establised plants?
Would I mix and give this to the plants on a seperate feeding schedule or can I throw this in with say the bat guano tea?
I like the idea of using organics a I feel the plants do much better with these types of ferts than the chems.
