u can try to cut off the dead part of the stem. i use aero cloner and thats what happens when my temp is too high. im guessing it would be the same for starter plugs but ive never clones w that technique. could also be overwatering. how often u watering those lil ladies?

happened to me before re cut the stems and re plant them if not they will die its stem rot. can be caused by alot of reasons.

I spray them and the dome 2X per day and the bottom tray is full. I also have a florescent 32 watt X 2, 8 inches away from the dome...maybe its still heating the dome. But will cut above the brown area and try to replant them under a new rooting powder(B). I think the clonex gel (A) has been sitting there for 4 days now so i dont think its any good.DSC03850.jpg

ok a few tips, always use fresh clonex in a ffresh container just pour out enough that u need and close it up. You are watering to much they are rotting. OMG i did the same thing i was all ocd about them. Arre you usuing rockwool? i hate rockwool i use oasis now it is way more forgiving and doesnt rot any of them. but here is what ive learned from taking over 1000 clones now. 1st soak medium in a clonex vit b mixture. cut your clones and put them directly in water so u dont get air bubbles. cut stems with razor not scizors. cut at angle scrape stem to where u plant it. dip immediatly into cloning gel and put in medium. repeat till done. spray dome turn on heated mat and do not touch again for 3 days. after 3 days feel them if they need somemore water (clonex and vitb) water them and start cracking dome for air mine have 3 air adjusters i do 1/4 till next watering. the 1/2 then full till all show roots then take dome off ive learned as long as the medium is wet and heating pad is on it creates the humidity for you. you dont need to spray. i have done a ton of side by side comparisons on clones. i make them for a club so i have to produce alot. i have roots this way in 7 days. and transplanted by 14. this is just my experience but i have a 100% sucess rate now. and i went from a 50% rate that took 2 wks plus to root. Hope this helps some. and if i get a stem rot just cut it above where stem is still hard cut off all soggy re dip it and put it back in dome :)

This is my actual first time growing and cloning. The mother plant is 16 days into flowering. I would like to try it with a new stem in the photo, I am out of fresh clonex the last one came with the cloning package by rapid rooter. I got some Take Root powder that i got when i purchased the used lighting fixtures.DSC03637-1.jpg The rotting clones are quite short not sure if they have enough energy to make it.DSC03699.jpgDSC03850-1.jpg

Oh where did you get the heating pad and how much? What temp did you set the heating pad. Not sure what the spongy medium is but its not soil or rockwool. It came in the Rapid Rooter 50 cloning package.

they are called rapid rooter plugs (they hold alot of water) i got mine at hydro shop but u can get them at any gardening store they are called seedling mats. they have only 1 temp they are made just for growing. the clones u have look to be ok if you cut them up like 1 inch and go ahead try the powder. the flowering mother is hard to get a clone to root from. takes time and practice but it is possible. remember if you keep them to wet (soggy) they will keep rotting. good luck keep me posted.

Looks exactly like too much water. Seedlings will do that if water logged, I know from experience lol. I can see the water standing on the plugs, so my opinion is back WAY off on the watering.
And yes, that plant is done, might as well pull it because the mold that will start soon might spread to your healthy plants.

DSC03987-1.jpg Another question, since i cut them they did get samller and was wondering if these are too small? DSC04005-1.jpg

I forgot to mention, one of my clone that i took while the mother had started flowering for 2 weeks had white hairs and now i see the hair turning red. Does that mean its going back to veg stage? I had them on 24 hours cfls now for 7. DSC03925-1.jpg

yes good sign it will take longer to root but its returning to veg, no they are not to small they will just take longer to get bigger. they may also die from shock or if the rot traveled up the stem to far. but its always worth the try and if it doent work hey, ya learned a good lesson :) its happened to all of us thats why we know. lol!

also use damp off prevents stem rot and kills anything that causes rot ie soft stem 100% success mine rooted in 5days ready for table in 10daysif using at matt 75-80degrees max in 1ch rock wool plugs i use a lack N to force carb load method super fast but that whole diff story

Ok 34 out of 50 are still alive and they are growing at an uneven rate. the smaller ones didnt get any nutes and the bigger ones were fed Big Grow FF and are a bit stretchy i think. They are in a 3 gallon pot. The leaves are wierd, some of the leaves has a long middle point with 3 points instead of 5+. Also 2 of the clones that has flowering hairs on it has purple vains on the leaves and it has crystals on them. I did cut them after 2 weeks into 12/12. Some of them are hard to tell which part is the main stem. I would like to try cloning again from these clones. they do look deformed, growing crooked and wierd shaped leaves. What do you guys think about throwing them under the 1000 hps at a distance now??/ they have been under cfl's 24/7 for over a month now. Will changing the light time from 24/7 (cfl) to 18/6 (1000 hps) freak them out?

I would switch lights, check all watering by hand lifting each pot and water accordingly be feeding about 700-800 ppm check each ph and address any problems according to what I thought it was that one looks hungry for something special or ph off. Looks like u might over water some too.good job tho
