Looking for greener pastures: Best market for a small scale grower: Canada, USA, European markets?

Hey guys.

Cons Canada: Yes everyone is saying Canada is going to legalise, but others are saying it's going to be a government controlled market, where you sell to them. Anyone else = worse penalties than before legalisation. Also I see SOP licensing seems like a bitch and a half.

Cons USA: The feds; It still isn't federally legal.

Cons EU: Well it is less legal here than the above countries, but it hasn't stopped people for decades

So it seems all countries are equally quasi-legal

I don't know enough about whats happening in Canada to really say but there are states in US that its pretty legal and for the most part the govt has been keeping their hands out of it. However theres been some talk about Oregon and how so much has been moving out of the state so I'm sure we will see crackdowns real soon there from the Feds.
Colorado is still pretty good Washington state is good but they currently aren't accepting commercial licenses, California has had a lot of run ins with the Feds so you could be fine there but dunno.
Honestly if you in one of those states and your small time you'd be just fine.

I see people saying that they cannot move their product because the market is saturated with prime nugs. A green rush is happening and all growers are moving there app to think they can get rich

Yeah your right, a slice can always be cut out of the pie. But it takes a lot of money to get it going.
But of course there is the dark web and always a black market in other states. The problem is getting the connections in other states. If your good on the dark web and good at security then you can move a decent amount like that but its dangerous because of how many things could go wrong.
If your in a legal state you can grow pounds easily and legally then mail it off.
I don't suggest it though.

The days of "dealing" marijuana are over. If that's how you're making a living, you're either going to go broke, are in the process of going broke, or are already broke.

It's like alcohol was during prohibition - expensive as hell in the beginning, but once everybody started figuring out how to make their own, the market quickly began drying up.

Marijuana is no different. The vast majority of full time smokers have started growing their own because it's so much cheaper and, overall, more rewarding to do.

The only market left is the casual smoker or medical patient. The first is your only real option because anybody with a prescription is going to renew that at a licensed seller.

So, in the end, it's not going to matter where you go, you're screwed. Start brushing up on your mechanical skills or whatever other skills you may have. Dealing pot for any real profit is over.

I’m doing ok out here. Medical caregiver is still working. Just have to get used to selling for half of what I used to pay.

Still better than a day job. :-)

Perhaps I should make money then by selling all these people hydroponic systems, organics, fertlisers, lighting, automation, genetix etc

Totally agree, Ive been slowly building a market. But your right its all about knowing the locals. If you have some good stuff then you will have people looking.
Honestly the only reason its getting tougher is because of some of the quality stuff coming from legal states.... just makes us step up our game. It was easy to beat that Mexico brick.

I never really worried before, because I figure that the better the MJ is grown, then the better the MJ quality. Like a fine single malt Irish whiskey, a great grower can still be a distinct artisan, and still be sought after and showered with cash.

Yeah step one of any venture is the ID your market, then the fun part growing can commence. Tho in the past i found having the best grade markets itself. Each client wants 50g instead of 10g, because their mates want that dank shit too. Like a pyramid scheme

im in the middle of this right now, trying to market my shit to friends' friends. I know they all love it, I just dont think they've made the connection that theres a lot more. I should just tell a couple of my buddies they can smoke for free if they bring me paying customers.

I'm in Colorado and have been growing for 15 years. It used to be good and you could make a living but once it went legal the big commercial grows pretty much took over. I cant even move the stuff anymore and its much better than the commercial chemical stuff that most dispensaries sell. I agree with what TacoMac says a few posts above, if your in a legal state the days of making a good return are over. I started making LED lights but even they are coming down in price massively to a point where you cant make much on them either.
I suggest taking the chance in the illegal states if your thinking of USA, its just how the system has gone, you only get paid if its outlawed but thats the chance you have to take.

I agree with hehehemann, if your looking for the biggest bang for your buck then an illegal state is where its at. But like we said before we have to make the connections.
I don't need to work but I've thought about working some part time jobs in a few places to make some more connections (looking for buyers). And I promise you those buyers know many others.
But I'm more of a supplier, I need dealers. I'm in a barely secure place and could if I wanted grow several pounds in a season and maybe a pound a month in the winter, but its all worthless unless you can move it.
