Looking For Help planning my next grow.

My current setup.
Tent 4 x 2 x 5 ft
Soil: Will probably use Roots Organic.
Light: 2 x 150 HPS
Extraction: 4 inch vortex with Phresh filter.

I'm planning my next grow and would like some suggestions
. I have a few grows under my belt. Nothing great, but nothing terrible either. It's all been middle of the road bud. I'm still learning and enjoying every minute of it.

I have sufficient room in my tent for 2 medium sized plants in 3 gallon pots. My space is 4' x 2 x 5' . I'd like to try to grow 4 to 6 smaller plants in 2 gallon pots. I'm looking for short indica genetic seeds right now. I plan to veg for two to three weeks depending on the growth and then flip the lights ( I know they won't begin to flower until they sexually mature). I estimate that the plants should stay relatively short and squat using this method. 2 feet would be fine with me.

Can I just pop the seeds in the 2 gallon pots and forget about it or is it better to plant photos in solo cups then 1 gal pots then the two gal pots? My thought is that popping them right into 2 gallon pots will avoid and shock and allow them to veg quickly.

Is it beneficial to the plant to start in small pots and pot up is my real question.

This picture was the last auto I grew. It gave me no problems what so ever, stayed short and produced a fair amount of bud. The THC and resin production just wasn't enough to float my boat though, plus I don't like the idea of running lights 20 hours per day and I can't have a perpetual harvest using autos.. so now I'm buying photo seeds only. The photos I have grown have been much more sticky, but I could have packed 6 of these autos in my tent no problem. I'm looking for a similar situation only with nice photos.

Why do I want short plants you may ask? I don't have a ton of height and I am using two 150w HPS so I feel the penetration is not that great. I may pick up an inexpensive 400w electronic ballast with cool tube for this grow, but I'm not sure.

Also, any suggestions for the grow or recommended strains would be awesome. I'm looking at sensi seeds super skunk and also Barneys Critical Kush.. I like medical indicas that won't allow my mind to race. I just like mild body high. Lower THC is fine with me. More important is yield, ease of growing, smell and taste.

Thanks for the help!

Easy growing short indica without your mind racing.?? Your gonna get a hundred opinions on this one. Here's mine. Northern Lights....... I've got 4 from nirvana seeds just hit week 4 of flower. They'll stay short if you work with em. Top em, tie em down. They'll get nice and fat. I'm on my first and did a ton of research before picking strains and found this is one of the easiest to grow. Not fussy at all.

Thx for the advice everyone.

Here is my current experiment. I've been working this thing for what seems to be forever. This is mainlined CBD Blue Shark.. Very long veg to get the shape. I think she is struggling a bit. Potassium deficiency. Old soil maybe. Only three weeks or so left for her so I'll just finish her out.

I'm guessing that 2 plants in 3 gal pots would scrog out nicely in my space.

I wish I could do a SOG. With plant limits and the cost of seed It's not really possible. I'd have to grow mothers and that would take a lot of time.
