Looking for input on lighting and ventilation for 8x16 tent

So I just purchased an 8x16 gorilla tent . The way the tent is designed it’s essentially eight 4x4 footprints , with several ventilation spots . Im running two 4 inch intake fans pumping fresh air low on each side , and a single 6 inch fan with a carbon filter suspended in the middle , for the exhaust side .

The lung room itself has a 12k btu window air conditioner as well as a 12k btu floor/portable unit .

I’ve noticed on warm days 80+ , the tent temps rise drastically , to the point where my leaves stsrt to canoe - should I put the portable ac inside the tent , and have it dehumidify and try to cool ? I also have several flip on fans and floor fans in there to circulate air as well . I should add that this is the 3rd story of my home so it’s without a doubt the warmest room in my house before lighting it up to grow.

My last question , I’m running fluence spydr 2i lights . They are 680w a piece with a 4x4 footprint . Are 8 of these lights overkill for that tent ?

I’m growing autos strictly in the next few weeks , In 7 gallon pots , in living soil and would like to nail down their environment for the highest quality end product and the largest yield possible !

Any advise is appreciated

I bet six of those lights would cover that space pretty well. Certainly enough wattage with six lights.

The way the gorilla tent is designed , it has 8 4x4 sections - that are divided . I do have an open area to walk in with several small seedlings in and the light reflecting off everywhere else is enough to keep them short and stout / no stretching etc without a light source on that section at all .


I’m working with autos right now . This Barney farms amnesia haze auto is massive ! 30-35 days left to go , and it’s already at 4 foot tall and heavily stacked .

These are just my autos , I have several feminized strains to boot , and also am doing a pheno hunt atm of greasy runtz with 150 feminized beans .

the pheno hunt is taking place in 1 gallon pots mixture of ffof ffsf and ffhf , with six 4x4 tents , 49 plants per tent . I’m allowing them to get large enough to cut one clone , then straight to 12/12 they go being trellis’d cured and tested .!Hoping I can at least come up with one insane phenotype if not 3-5 of them out of these . The nug was phenomenal and registered 27% thc , even after finding several smaller seeded buds in the bags .

Stacking up nice . These autos may be my new best friends haha
