Looking for new Nutrients -

I am currently using the techniflora line of nutes and have been very pleased with them but they seem very expensive considering the amount it takes grow a plant from clone to harvest.

Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative that works well?

Most high end nutrients cost around the same IME.
When I first started growing, I changed nute lines a few times until it dawned on me that nutrients are only a small part of the "growing formulae".
Get your space dialled in, Air exchange, Lighting, CO2 availability, temps, humidity, genetics, grower skill. These are all more important than a nutrient brand.
Learn the parameters for each of these factors and get your grow space as close as you can to these, read as much as you can and feed a decent quality nutrient and you should have good yields. Remeber, weed costs $300-$500 retail per oz so $20 on a bottle of decent nutrients every few months isnt much to invest considering the returns or alternative.
I like AN Sensi, especially the ph perfect formulae but GH, Canna, Technoflora, Dutch Pro, Atami, Ionic are all fine nutrients and remember the plants cant read so whats in a name.

yeah i agree with you about nutes only being one small part of the successful equation but they are also the most expensive part. sure lights fans and pumps cost a fair bit but they last a long time, i got thru a $100+ of nutes in one grow of 6 plants (and the res is nearly dry in 9 days from res change) growing 6 plants in an 18 gallon tote dwc with around 10 gallons of water. so thats about :
150 ml of boost
150 ml of bloom
25 ml of B1
25 ml of awesome blossom
25 ml magical
125 ml sugar daddy

every 9 days! for at least 60 of the 90+ days (the first 30ish the nute line up was different). and at 70$ (or maybe it was 40 a liter) a liter for most of those it adds up fast.

I would personally, highly recommend you check out 'General Organics'. They've got this thing called 'Go-Box' (not grow, but go).. which is what I currently have and use.. and I'm telling ya, my lady absolutely LOVES these nutrients/additives.

The box came with the following nutrients/additives:

-Bio-Root (root development/growth booster) <-- this stuff is GREAT for young seedlings.
-Bio-Weed (cold processed seaweed - encourages prolific root and foliage growth as well as larger fruits and flowers)

-CaMg+ (provides a natural source of Calcium and Magnesium, critical elements in a plants growth cycle. CaMg+ optimizes the plants metabolism, enhancing growth and creating healthier flowers)
-Diamond Black (Contains organic compounds that improve nutrient uptake/absorption, stimulate microbial activity, promote soil structure/health, increase nutrient retention, and reduce water usage.. meaning you will have to water less)

These are all 100% organic... and so far, in the 4 months I've had these nutrients.. I've got one 100% all organic harvest from using these.. and the difference is just immaculate, indescribable.. just freaking amazing!! It helps with the final products taste/smell and look. It's just an overall great product man. I highly recommend these nutrients to all growers.. even the noobies.

I have been looking at vita grow it comes in liquid or powder form its a 3 part nute with grow 17-0-0. bloom 0-52-34 and micro 4-14-24 the powder will make 300 gals of nutes my only concern is the levels are way higher than the general hydro 3 part system im useing now and I dont want to mess up my grow I have going now with nutes im not familiar with but the price is good at 19.85 usd plus shipping isnt a bad price compared to GH nutes at 35.85 plus shipping thats 16 dollars cheaper so Im going to get some and try it out on a seperate grow and see how good I can get at mixing this stuff up like I said the nute levels are extremly high on these nutes so getting the mix just right could take a little to get used to. anyone else try these nutes any opinions on this nute line would be great

I agree with Woodydude, getting everything else dialed in is very important. Fuck its expensive enough to just run the lights for run nevermind the nutes. But in my humble opinion, i find all my money was going into all the additives.... Thats where nutrients get expensive. I use Supernatural nutes now, and i just use the base line. Its a true one part. gro for veg, and bloom for flower.... And when i buy the big sizes, it works out to about 25 cents a gallon for me.... And i generally stay away from too many additives. I do like doing foliar feeding, so i spend a bit here and their, but thats about it.

I finally tried out Dyna-Gro. Been using them for 2 runs now and have been very happy with my results and
the fact I can pull these results with next to nothing cost made me a very happy camper. Here's a pic of my

that PE looks awesome disp, ill check out the dyna-gro. im just looking for something i can buy in bulk that will do the job so i can spend more of my cash on the other parts of growing.

Go on Ebay. I recently ordered the one liter bottles of Sensi bloom A and B for 30.00 you can find all of the advanced nutrient line for a helluva lot less than what it retails for at the stores.

I use the flora series recirculating schedule with dry kool bloom. I love it I get around 1.75 lbs. per 1000 watt hps. Look at my albumns if intrested . I buy the 6 gallon jugs and I want to estimate here 4-5 full grows and then u run out of the bloom first then flora blend and the micro almost same time.

Right now, Cutting Edge Solutions is one of the least expensive pro-nutrients out there on a per-run basis. They are moderately consistent in their PPMs, and their system works well as a three part base with cal mag and your own additives, and their 6 part (We're talking @$25 a gallon, so $150 for six gallons) is 100% complete from start to finish. Using the 5ml/gallon average of their feeding chart, a starter set of six gallon bottles will net nearly 1000 gallons of solution. (Of course you will need more of grow and bloom than Mag-Amp) you'll get Good to moderate results, it works well with Advanced and House and Garden's boosters, and if you've got a mind for science, it is easy to use them as a solid base for a much more informed mix.

Dyna Gro is good too, however I personally think they are repackaged agricultural nutrients with very little in-house experience in indoor. Most of their nutes seem to be cheap ass farmer inputs like CalPhos and Ammonium Nitrate, even in similar mixes. I avoid Ammonium Nitrate like the plague, especially when in bloom; its bomb juice, and it sparks like the 4th of July if not well cleared... The only reason it started being used as a fertilizer is that we had a ridiculous amount of it left over from making bombs after WWII. That said, I use their neem oil and pro-tekt as low-cost contingency plans against bugs and high heat.
