So for the past 48 hours I have been socializing with alot of sites that give free samples. This post is to make my job a tad bit easier. Does anyone know of some places that give free nutes, hormones, soil, ect? I can pay for a shipping fee..it's just I'm new to growing and I would like to try a product before I buy it because there are nearly 20,000+ companies with alot of different types of supply. Thanks

Wow! I really wish I lived near you. At the time being anything with cal-mag and possibly something to stimulate root growth. As I am not a professional grower I'm still learning

Are you looking for any samples or more so organic? Pretty sure you'd have quicker results using Google...but here are a few more.

As a new member I want to welcome you to RIU, but please understand that laziness is truly frowned upon within these forums especially by the people who most like have the most knowledge/experience. By no means am I trying to be rude, however I am new grower as well as a new member here at RIU. From my short time on the forum (as a member) it seems those with true experience are much more willing to help those, who try to help themselves first. For example: the links provided was a matter of about 15 seconds of time, including copy and pasting them here. It has taken more time to write the other part of this post.

Also, one thing very important to keep in mind as a new member here at RIU, just because some one has "earned" the title of "Well-Known Member' doesn't mean that they are by any means a great, knowledgable grower. Yes, some "Well-Known Members" are in fact great cultivators that you can learn a lot from, however I am a prime example of someone who is a new grower, new to the forum, but have earned that status simply because of my activity on the forum.

Again welcome to RIU, and hopefully this comment doesn't come across as too harsh. Take advantage of searches on this site, as well as other site, but never automatically believe something without evidence to back up the claim, i.e. pictures, videos, etc. Welcome to the RIU community and I hope you find lots of great information here and have wonderful success with all of your grows!

Currently as stated I have tried Google's way of showing me businesses and I have already requested samples in the past 48 hours to a crap ton and I'm hoping for a10%+ success rate. There wasn't any type of laziness here. This post was meant to give me better chances by finding sites people have found to work. I understand you wasn't trying to be rude, just understand my side aswell :) ,happy growing and I appreciate the welcome

From my experience you really shouldn't have an issue receiving most nutrients if you live in the states, as many nutrients are available for general gardening. One thing you will learn is every grower has a preference based on the set up. There are different nutes that you would use in soil vs using in a hydro set up. I'm assuming since you mention soil samples as well, that thats your intended medium, but more information would help. Also, I recommend using the search bar here on RIU. There are many threads discussing nutrient preferences, and the majority of companies are willing to send some time of sample for little or no cost. Also depends on your feelings of synthetic vs organic vs vegan nutes as well. Best of luck though truly.

I am by no means the even close to the most knowledgable person here, as I clearly stated in previous post, but any time you run into a question, I will be more then glad to help assist you or try and steer you the direction of someone here that can!

I appreciate everything you have done so far, and yes my main medium for the time is soil. I don't mind what types of nutrients because I'm in this to learn. I'll find what best suits my planting style . but if I ever need help I'll get ahold of you . much appreciated

I like your attitude as far as wanting to learn. That will take far in gaining knowledge here. Soil is a great first medium as it seems to be forgiving, however I personally would recommend something from Roots or Fox Farm myself for soil. You will find that quality soil is a good start and often requires minimal nutrients. However, many quality soils like Roots and FF tend to be a little two hot for seedlings so just something to keep in mind. I'd check both companies for samples.

The best root enhancer will be kelp extract!

Simply contact nutrient makers and ask them if they would send you samples......Many will..

My local retailer that I've spend countless amounts of cash randomly called me today and told me they had some new samples in!! I'm gonna go check them out and see what I can scratch up! I'm excited because they never called me before
