I never said anything man, just responding to the way you responded, maybe it was in jest but around here people are very serious and respectful. it just kinda threw me off thats the first time I ever seen someone get so offended.

I just asked advice, its all cool man post away, just didnt want you misconstrue what were talking about thats all.
appreciate the respect. I do get a little defensive at times my bad. I do like my scope though :)

this ones for you beansly :)

I took these pictures today with an olympus 10 Megapixel camera, let me tell you I was blown away when I blew up the pictures.

heres one of those buds I posted almost a week later, second picture is I simply zoomed in on it with a photo editing program. we were shitting ourselves.

nothing wrong with a jewelers loop but look at these pics! omgosh I can actually count the trichomes, I can see maybe 2 % amber, 80% clear and 18% whitish.... and trust me figuring out those percentages hurt my brain for a second there lol enjoy

obviously word for word from the book...fdd2blk has the correct approach by looking at your plant as a whole ,,and should be able to tell from about 2ft away...and yes the micro scope works for the general area that you are looking at, now imagine going around your plant or whole crop with a micro scope....mabey use micro scope for small indoor ops,,not out side on say a 100 plant crop.....oh and btw nice looking buds hip hop.

Radio Shack sells a 60x-100x hand held microscope which works ok. under $15.

I use a 30x loupe.

As mentioned, overall appearance is important as well. Some strains ripen unevenly.

I sometimes harvest a plant's buds in three or four waves over a period of two or three weeks.

I'd agree, all the plants have a couple weeks or more to go.

this is the other strain, which I believe is pretty much finishing up as we speak. as per advice from Fdd I am maybe going to wait 7 days for this one, I was a heady high with this strain, look at those trichomes, note the difference in color and "milkyness"
I had no idea cams were so awesome now. Im really just broke when it comes down to it hehe.
Just a tip i dont know if you know (or read high times, thats where i got it from); if you leave you plants in uninterrupted darkenss for the last two days before your harvest, you can actually coax a little more potency out of your babies. Research has shown that THC production is higher during the no light hours of the light cycles.

Thanks man, I think Im aight ..hehe
Yea, I actually got that out of the 2010 july issue of High Times pg 70.
"A higher level of potency can be coaxed from the plants by leaving them in uninterrupted darkness for 24 to 48 hours before harvest. Well documented studies have shown that cannabinoid production is highest during the dark hours of the photo period, so these hours are prolonged as harvest time approaches."

I had no idea.
