Background Info:
We moved into a new house that has a walk-in closet in a spare room with a continuous passive ventilation system built into it. Something sort of like this. The builder explained it's to help with ventilation in modern homes that are sealed up better than older ones. There are a couple of plugs in there, it's a pretty decent size, and we don't use it for anything. We're in Colorado, so no worries about legality.
I only plan to grow one small autoflower in a 3-gallon fabric pot. I'm not going for a monster here. I'm also planning on picking up an AC Infinity carbon filter and fan as I get closer to flowering (Filter, Fan) and hanging it in the closet. No exhaust other than the ventilation system built into the house, I'd just be using the carbon filter as a scrubber-type system in the current plan.
The closet is probably 5 feet deep, 12 feet wide, 10 feet tall.
Question:
My question is -- When it starts to smell, is the carbon filter and fan setup going to be sufficient to keep smell from both entering our house and any smell from exiting through the exhaust fan? Or should I consider getting some sort of tent setup to better contain/scrub the air?
I'd rather not invest in a tent when I have an empty, perfectly usable closet, but also don't want to smell up the neighborhood (or our own house). I just have no concept of how much one, small autoflower will actually smell.
I couldn't find any information about a setup with a fan in the closet like this anywhere, so happy for any thoughts from anyone with more experience than me!!
