Looking into Zephyr 1 by Titan Controls

so I'm looking into this, what seems to be nifty little product.. but I've got some questions.. so I'm running my 4x4 in a new location and temps are kicking my ass. and im better trying to manage them especially the swing.. lol anyways so to my understanding if I hook my exhaust fan to the controller it'll turn on my extraction fan once the temps go up to my desired setting on the controller. which would be 76. it'll turn on once it hits 80 or higher to cool, and off when it hits 72? is that correct? with 4 degree differential setting..

then this lead to other questions.. would it damage the life span of the fan constantly turning off and on? and also would it be an issue not to be having constant air exchange? because it won't go back on til it hits 80 degrees..

my main concern is the night time temps. I think I can manage the lights on temps but as soon as they go off it gets to like low 60s.. it has been cold here lately which makes no sense but oh well..

would this benefit me for the dark cycle?

I'm all over the place but I'm sure yall get it.

What are you asking?

You don't have to exchange air during lights out. They are not taking on co2 so no need to exchange air.

I don't really know what you are asking.

Well see that's my issue. right there. you say no need to exchange air during lights out.. but hundreds of others forums say air need to be on during lights out then some sau on 15 minute intervals during lights out.. some say leave them on 24/7 and other like you say off during lights out.

which is the truth? which give the plant optimal conditions? and also what I'm asking is this, so say I don't have any intake or exhaust fans on during the dark cycle, but I have my exhaust hooked to the zephyr 1 controller.. it will shut it completely off when it hits the desired temp I set on the controller? or will it slow down the fan speed?

do you own one? a zephyr 1? or used one before?

Do you like being hammered by wind while you are sleeping?

Plants produce o2 during lights off, they don't uptake co2. We exchange air because plants deplete co2 when transpiring during lights on.

I guess some people might run fans during lights off to control a high temp or high humidity.

see I've always understood that they still don't like to sit in stagnant air.. and without constant air exchange.. yeah. lol though I do run mine very low at lights out..

but I'm looking to invest in the zephyr and wanted to know how it works..

so back to that.. it regulates speed or like on/off with the setting on the thermostat?

and by doing either will it be an issue during lights on? with air exchange either slowing down or shutting off completely constantly because of the setting on the thermostat forcing it to do so. also aside from the plants conditions, will it effect the lifespan of the fan by doing either?

I use the Titan mercury 4. It runs at a set percentage 24/7, then has a high temp setting that turn it to 100% of it hits that temp. I run it 24/7 to maintain a negative room pressure.

thanks brotha. I emailed titan to ask what the difference between the zephyr 1, 3, 4 and the mercury 3 & 4? they all have basically the same description on their site.

also does it really help to maintain temps. like I've said in a part above my biggest problem is keeping temps above 60 at lights out. thinking of getting an oil filled heater but I really don't want to lose floor space. lol

If the environment your pulling air from is cold, your room is going to be cold. Either add heat, or deal with no fans for a few hours a night. Not much else to do.

It's in a garage that's why.. seperate from my living area.

I guess I'm going to have to add a heater.
