Looking to buy a closed loop extraction system. What's your recommendation?

I would say dont buy anything to extract with solvents. Very soon all of that equipment will become obsolete. Whole plant extraction is the future. Start watching hash church on youtube and you'll see what I mean.

My friend bought a Terpp,,,,,,he's used our Tam and thought he would try the Terpp....
He used it once and sold it and bought a Tamisium....That should say it all.

I checked those guys out.interesting.purely hash fanatics? I didn't have time to get into much,going to later.do those guys have how to's on YouTube?what's their preferred method of making it?I was interested in bho and shatter but the solvent thing never jived well w/me.hash seems less harmful.can you dab hash like bho?thanks cap,any info is great

Rosin is one of the newer easier ways to make dabbable wax or hash without the use of solvents.

No how to by them as far as I know

Bubble hash is seperated by micron screens some microns can be full melt (dabable).
Resin heads no stalks or plant matter

Ice hash = up to aprox 35 - 50%
Wax = up to aprox 70+%
Shatters can reach into the 90+% Thc concentrations.

Wax and especially shatters. As close to doing acid, without actually doing Acid as you can get....In my opinion! (sure as hell don't attempt to drive on it!)
You will not get the same effect with ice hash.

Bho extracts everything (Thc's) in the plant matter, not just the trichomes and their stems.
Ice hash can and does contain other plant matter on certain mesh grades...

When using a good vac oven, you will remove all the bho residue if done properly.

The step to shatters involves "washing" the extract with pure iso alcohol. This (when filtered) removes the wax's and esters in the extract, leaving you with as pure Thc as you can get.

There is a science to this step alone. The best results involve "wintering" the extract IN the alcohol, by storing it in a freezer for several weeks before filtering and removing the alcohol (back to the vac oven after the alcohol has visibly evaporated).

Flash fires are always a concern. A Tamisium reduces this danger in the extraction to almost 0! Great care must still be used! Terpp extractors use pumps and this involves great fire hazards!

Very nice,Doc.thanks for the info.I'm really interested in all of this.I've read up on the winterization and vac ovens.I think this would be the only method I would do if I were to make bho(shatter).there are so many hacks around my neck of the woods I've made the decision not to smoke any dabs unless I see it being made.I know of a guy blowing bho through schedule40 plumbing pipe.sends shivers down my spine.the problem is the initial investment. I would be doing this for personal use only,and don't know if I could justify spending at least a couple grand.I have seen some kits for 3-400 bucks,I might be interested in(theyre not ovens,need to be heated underneath)depends on whether or not harvest happens.research will continue. Thanks for the info.
