Looking to buy a new LED

Just a different name  I'd be surprised if anything was as advertised. The confidence in led knockoffs is stroooong  I've never seen anyone with a fake Gucci purse arguing with someone who has the real thing, yall are just wild bongsmilie
Congrats to the op for purchasing a quality light. A lot can be known about a man by the tools he chooses to use. You don't see the lead tech at a respected dealership using a harbor freight torque wrench when he's doing heavy engine work.
. Before anybody jumps my shit, I've used my fair share of cheap tools, because sometimes you don't have a choice. But I've never carried my cheap tools over to a buddy's snap on chest and argued that my stuff was the same as his, with just a different name. A snap on ratchet and a harbor freight ratchet look similar, but its what you can't see that's important.

I will jump your shit because you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about. Or maybe you’re a lead tech at a dealership... :dunce:

What deems spider farmer a knockoff light from a sf4000, and an hlg. they both have the same items with just a different company name And price by half. They were smart enough to make it affordable instead of charging a grand. Only difference is the board is a bit thicker than an hlg and it holds temperature a bit more cause it’s fanless. So if someone had a choice to buy two sf4000s for one grand to get almost 800 watts worth diodes or 1200 for one hlg to get 650 watts worth the diodes. The two lights would sell faster than one huge price light to equal 650 watts. That’s how they make that money. More for less. That’s how Jeff jebos made his empire and came the richest man on earth.
All quantum boards that aren't HLG boards are knockoffs. They all are just copying HLG. They also aren't allowed to call them quantum boards.

This is a totally absurd comparison. Knockoff Gucci purses don't use the same material as real Gucci purses. You are comparing lights that BOTH use Samsung diodes and Meanwell drivers, the only difference is assembly, which by the way is rather simple. Watt for watt you aren't going to get much more out of an HLG over a Spider Farmer.

You believe Spiderfarmer uses the same quality materials as HLG?

I will say I am thoroughly impressed how this HLG board does not even get that warm. I know I havnt turned it up much yet (it's on 25% Power) . Although I can tell this is Quality. I already feel my money was well spent. I'll post after I get a grow with it.

Exactly my point. Both companies tell you.

HLG specifically mentions "Each board has 272 highest flux and lowest voltage bin Full Spectrum LM301H LED"

Spiderfarmer says "Samsung LM301B diodes"

How many bins, and how many variations of the 301 are there? I can only find 3 data sheets from Samsung, for CRI 70, CRI 80, and CRI90. Looks like there are 3 different bin codes for forward voltage, and 5 different bin codes for luminous flux, per cri rating . Forward Voltage ranges from 2.6 - 2.9 depending on bin, and Luminous Flux range is 28 - 36.

If a company is using the top bin diodes, they will tell you. Otherwise you get a generic "lm301b" description. Looks like there are a lot of options on the quality spectrum of the lm301b.
