Looking to do DIY lights

I'm looking to make my own lights and was just curious if anybody has messed with these and what they thought. I want to get both wavelengths.

I posted this first in the wrong thread... im not trying to double post just want to make sure I'm in the right spot!

Also curious as to how many of other temos should I get. Im also going to be putting in a bunch of IR for flower

Been there and the numbers arent good enough for me: it would be about threehundred fifty dollars for about twentysix watts of output and about hundredfifty watts of input. both types of leds are available in much better efficiency at similar or better prices.

You can buy reptile lights for cheap, those produce plenty of UV. You can also add UV T5's to an existing set up, especially if you have strip lights or COB DIY set ups. Are you DIY'ing your whole lighting set up, or just the UV? Also, you can get single diodes and star pads for pretty cheap and put those in your set up. Im currently looking into buying pcbs and diodes for diy, but I don't know if I want to invest in a solder flow table.

I'm thinking of just diy the uv lights now. Ive got 1 mars hydro tsl2000 and sf4000 in my 4x5. Taking the sf4000 out and adding in another tsl2000. If I can uv and more ir I'll feel like I'm sitting good.

I'm not familiar with models, are those board lights?

Ok, so you're going to have to figure out where to place your UV to get the best coverage. Since you can't place between strips or cobs, you're going to have to place UV solution around them. You're going to want light that's spread out vs focused, IMO.

I was going for more of a spread haha. Thats why I want to get strips. I can build a frame to go around my existing lights. Also I'm looking to where I can find some uv and ir strips cheaper

How close to my plants do they need to be? I'd like to stick with LED but I understand i may not be able to.

No clue..I've never done it. Most people integrate UV into their lighting setup directly. So I would say same height as the rest of your lights
