I'm pretty new to all of this and I'm looking to switch up some things before starting my next grow. Previously, I've used basic potting soil (Coast of Maine Bar Harbor) with plenty of perlite in a 5gal fabric pot. The plant was not great, though I'm almost 100% certain it was genetics. It was a random bagseed that shouldn't have been there and had pretty bizarre traits throughout the grow. The final product was also unlike anything I've had before, a very strange high that I didn't like at all.
Anyway, I'm looking to change things up. I've been researching soilless mixes and I'm drawn to Promix. Unlike the previous plant, I now have specific nutrients (Advanced MGB) so I can do a little more than just throw something into decent potting soil and pray.
I want this to be easy. It's basically just for fun and I'm not looking to spend a whole lot. I am also not looking for a some award winning return, simply keeping it alive would be a success.
I guess here are some questions -
What type/version of promix would be best?
It is really necessary to amend it if I'm using specific nutrients (I plan on adding perlite unless not recommended)?
How concerned should I be about PH? I've read that promix by itself may need some work out of the bag.
I'm guessing I do not need to flush it (unlike coco coir)?
Any guidance would be much appreciated, thanks.
