Looking to veg 4 plants. Need help with light

Im trying to create a grow room to veg around 4 plants and I'm looking for a light. I would like a light that does not get too hot because it is in a cabinet and i can't install any sort of ventilation. IF it is necessary to install ventilation I can, but in total here my budget is around $150. I'm thinking CFL's but need some opinions

cfls would be good way to go you can get them on sale too or try to find coupons for them as well, you'll need to install ventilation though

Ok. How many watts do you think for 4 plants? 250? and know any good ways to hang cfl's?

Id go with LED's, I just got a cheap china made 300w 7 spectrum LED from Amazon for $200. I use it for my veg closet which is 4x7 and its more than plenty of light for 2 mothers and roughly 25 clones in different growth stages. It keeps the internodes very tight and compact. I use an oscillating fan to move air around a bit but the light itself doesn't produce any significant heat.

I think I'm just going to settle with a nice t5 fluorescent 2 foot 4 bulb

Unless you get the HO t5's I think LED's would be more productive, especially during flowering

if your using same roomfor flower. then think smart. get a 400 watt ballast that is switchable mh to hps and a 8 inch cool tube, and you will be rocking the best equipment out there total cost is about 310. and you will have your cash back the first harvest. and that's 2 bulbs the cool tube the fan . then just install a small fan in the room to vent it out, a 400 watt cool tube that is vented will not hot at all mabe less then a t5 system if installed correct . will be far superior to the t5 .florescent . led your cost will be far more for the same quality,

More than 1 plant without "any sort of ventilation" = asking for trouble.
