looks not everything?

So after a day of no weed I slummed so schwagg from a friend who smokes nothing but it.... Holy shit I was blown away by the tastes..

I am smoking a blunt of it now, it's some super bricked stuff but tastes great. It taste Kake some oxican from Mexico I once had very Mexico ish. And I am high as hell and I have a huge tolerance and smoke dabs near daily.

Here is a pic.. my question becomes am I just crazy after no bud all day or can it be possible that this ugly looking brick is great shit in disguise. I was so intrigued that I brought out my scope. Low and behold mostly amber some very cloudy...

yeah, bag appeal is a pretty recent innovation in the canna world, and all it means to me is that bud looks good in a bag, it tells you absolutely nada about how that bud might smoke..
people always look at pix of old bud from say the 70s and think, how could this bud be half way decent, just look at it, blah blah blah... it's just that bud back then was usually grown outdoors, and in another country, and had to be smuggled in for us to smoke it.. today, most people are probably only about, idk, say 5 people, away from the grower of that bud or so'ish..
i've seen plenty of pretty bud that does absolutely nada in the stone dpt over the years..

My friends sometime bring buy the dankest looking nug ever, and it does nothing at all. Sometimes they bring some scraggly buds and it's amazing. I don't get the whole bag appeal... to me it's about quality, not image.

Like Racers saying here, the commercial brickweed gets super compressed so a block of up can fit in the carriers gas tank, floorboards, up his ass or whatever. In that process, any visual of what the bud actually would have looked like is out the window as it gives way to being compressed every which way.
You never know for sure anything at all about this amazing plant in any form ...until you blaze it. ( or otherwise consume it)
