I used to use peroxide all the time but made a chiller out of a water cooler so have no problems with the roots anymore. I can keep two tubs, 50Lx2, down to 65F no problem and the plants love it.
The AN nutes I use have amino acids and other organic molecules in them and the peroxide will just destroy them so don't want to use that any more. I just bought a gallon of 29% food grade for $50 to keep around for emergencies and other uses.
The only time I've ever seen any of my plants shed roots is when there's rot going on and I've often stressed the hell out of my plants just to see what happens. I don't believe that stress causes hermies unless the plant already has strong hermie genes and would likely do it anyways.
