Low Humidity

Hey all, I just started growing a few weeks ago with a 400 mh in soil. Growing in the basement and the temp is regulated around 78f/25c during the light cycle and then drops down to 62f/16.6c during the dark cycle. Not sure what most people prefer for dark cycle temps. Humidity runs between 30-38% which I know is low, does anyone else suffer from this problem and if so, what do you do to raise it up. It seems like most people are fighting humidity which may be the case down the road when my plants mature.

+ consider getting like a little 50w heater off ebay for the dark period, NOT A FAN HEATER THEY USE AT LEAST 2,000 WATTS

Temps are perfect. You need the drop at night. Humidity is a little low but nothing to worry about. If you want to raise it, hang a damp towel in the room and have an oscillating fan part blowing on it.

I wouldn't worry about it mate, i've grown perfectly healthy plants with humidity at 20-30 during veg with no problems whatsoever.

you can get a dehumidifier, or just leave a tote full of water with a fan blowing over it.

edit: humidifier

hey dtownrebel,

just wanted to say i agree with sensi, i've grown in lower than that just fine. Once they start getting bigger the humidity will jump too. I bought a humidifier for my previous grow and this time I didn't use it.. no differences except less to manage.

But if you do want to get it up higher then i'd go with humidifier :eyesmoke:

I put a wet towel (approx 12"x24") in my room with a fan blowing by it and it raises my RH from 35 to almost 45. My room is 5'x5'x7'tall.
It seems to work out pretty good, I re-wet the towel a couple of times a day. I have noticed that with a higher RH in my room the girls sure do put off a stronger smell.

Always remember to think of where any dripping water from the towel will go though....
Safety first.
