I use this method , reccomend using a 4’ welded wire cage instead of a tomato cage, inner metal cage is necessary. Don’t skip it.
Use 5/8 rebar ( have to metal grind it to cut it ) or 10’ t posts for the poles ,
I use 3 layers of horizontal trellis
Hortitrellis , get it in 8’ length 3000’ long you’ll use it all ( might take a few years )
Don’t use a metal outer trellis, just use hortitrellis and zip ties ..
Good trellising is one of THE most important things you can do.
And supercrop into the trellis
I would love to get my hands on some of that, sadly I was only able to afford Welded wire 50-ft x 4-ft and use it as the first cage and do vertical type scrog training, beautiful plants.....your killing it.
If i can make a recommendation for plant support for big plants is that we use wire cages made from re-mesh wire. it's used in concrete work, it's cheap and you can find it at Home Depot. it comes in 7' rolls so it makes 7' cages. Very strong (you can climb it) and has 6" openings so easy to reach inside to plant stalk. Easy to make, just cut the length you want and wrap around each pot. Works very well, even for extra large plants.
