Low low Ph

Hey I just transplated/watered my seedlings into coco coir, and I gave them nutes with Ph5.8, I mixed the nutes adjusted the Ph and I watered, I didnt wait after adjusting to see the Ph was stable or not as Ive heard some people say you should do. I just mixed it adjusted it and poured(with some good whisking with an egg beater in between). So anyways I took a sample of the water that flowed through the coco and into the saucers and Ph tested it and it read Ph4.1 ! that seems like a pretty drastic drop from the 5.8 I put in. Im not too worried about nute lockout as its coco and I will be watering again soon(not sure how long yet, but whenever its dry again) but Im just wondering if the Ph is too low can the acid burn the plant? is 4.1 deadly? I think strait vinigar is Ph4. oh and coca cola I heard is Ph 4 haha

thanks for the help

you should be trying to get your nutes to about 6.0 to 6.5 before you water. its normal for the ph to drop a little as it flows through the soil or coco but you shouldnt worrie to much about the runoff ph unless your having problems and the plant is not growing. i water at 6.5 and my runoff is 5.8 and i have very healthy fast growing girls. happy growing

That sounds like soil Ph #'s. Ive been told by everyone that coco is to be treated like hydro as far as Ph because Im adding all nutes in the water. So Ph 6 6.5 is pretty high for hydro, 5.8 is the number i seem to find everywhere, I look at hydro. do you know about the whole "mix your nutes the night before and let them sit and then the next day balance your Ph" thing, is that true?

Im going to give it a try, check Ph night before, wait overnight, see if it changes, if it does than ill continue doing that, if not ill just mix my nutes quick and easy.

I check my plants a few times today and they are mostly good, some minor burn or def I cant tell, ends of leaves look a little less green and not hold a good shape to them, mostly on lower leaves, Ill post some pics tommorrow if it looks like its getting worse, but mostly I think they are just happy to be out from under the CFL and into the MH
