Low vigor seeds?

I germinated these seeds three days ago (mazar kush label), and they started to open on the third day. However, they seem to be growing very slowly and with low vigor. My question is: once the seeds have sprouted, will they remain stunted throughout the rest of their growth, or can they still develop normally? I got them for cheap so I guess they are from an old batch. Second pic is OZ kush cbd for comparison.

Plant them and give them the best conditions you can, and wel find out. I’ve had older seeds start out slow and then turn out ok. I’ve also had some grow out an inch or 2 and then just start to die. Only one way to know. Goodluck.

3-5 days for me with this method. Sometimes 24-48hrs those are the best. Id wait till it sheds shell day 5 if not then carefully peel shell off and plant. I usually dont have good results just planting them like that. If its struggling in there Id think it could struggle when planting.

If the papertowel is providing friction by being folded should be good. Or this can be an experiment just go ahead and plant them see what they do. Maybe it will help rub shell off but if it dont then got to dig it up after dedicating space time etc. Possibly to break root its sensative.

So yea sometimes they slower especially if its too cold but if it keeps stunting it quickly racks up the time to recover. Only to possibly not. Idk about you but I lose coco if to plant it, quickly gets moldy and wouldnt reuse.

Not sure what you mean by poor things. I usually plant them when they are like 2cm
Don’t sweat it, the seedling is still using its store of nutrients and enzymes that early in its life.

Like @medidedicated said, if they are having that hard of a time with the paper towel method, they may also struggle if you go straight into soil without sprouting a decent little taproot. They may be slower overall until they get situated in soil/medium, and you’ll likely have to baby them up to that point if you want to keep them.

Yeah, that’s why I was hesitant to plant them, if they are struggling with paper towel then soil might be a bit too much. That’s my plan. I hope they can recover once they get past the survival part. If I remember correctly I had a similar seed a long time ago and she turned bigger than the “normal” seeds.

I just went through this with like 4 packs of older seeds. Some of them had good vitality, while others were off to a painfully slow start. I planted a bunch that looked like your first photo (or worse) and had an extremely low survival rate. The ones I babied or kept in the paper towel longer so that taproot could grow and the shell could be shed, actually survived.
