Lowest buds turning brown

I'm about 5 weeks into flowering otdoors and for the past week on about 3 or 4 branches the lowest buds sites are turning brown like they have botrytis....but none of the other branches are affected, nor any other plant. I've been struggling getting the pH up because the ground soil is very clay rich but have managed to keep it above 6.8 for a month or so. The soil doesn't have the greatest drainage so I was thinking it might've been caused from all of the rain we've been getting and causing root rot. As previously mentioned it affects the lowest buds site and so I cut it off and a day or two later the next site up looks brown and shriveled.I added a 6" inline fan to combat humidity and morning dew, this makes node 4 it has demolished. The rest of the plant looks fairly healthy other than leaf spotting due to low pH, calcium deficiency, and pH swings. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

Just about a guarantee it’s drainage issues. Root problems. Likely calcium deficient.

Trying to change the ph of outdoor soil is kinda futile. I have extremely dense clay soil here, and the only thing that helps is mycorrhizae. They loosen up the clay so your roots can penetrate more easily, and there is some evidence they help with resistance to moisture issues, both over and under watering, and resistance to root rot. You might want to try them next year. Starting your seeds in soil seeded with spores will ensure you have them from the beginning, or it you're lazy like me you can use promix herb & vegetable potting soil, it already has spores mixed in.

Right on, just a note but I did start all them in 5 gallon buckets of promix hp until I transplanted into the ground. I sprayed lower branches with Daconil yesterday and it does seem to have slowed the progression a bit

If it works, good. Just remember to rinse the plants before you cut, or before you dry. Inhalation seems to be a bad thing with this stuff.

Yeah I gotta bout 5 weeks left so I'm sure we'll get a good downpour or two. Thanks for the link... We have switched to SDS at work but I never seem to look at the chems I use at home.

Update*
I bit the bullet and cut off all affected branches, as well as running my 6" fan every 2 hours for a half hour.....so far the botrytis hasn't spread,knock knock. In the home stretch now!
