I've read they can take a couple of frosts, but too cold and the roots, and flowers will be dead. I am planning to not let mine go any colder than 29 deg F. The only reason I'm going to let them go so close is because they are flowering so flippin slow.

yea, they can take 4+ frosts if you have a resiliant strain.....mine took 3 then started to budrot........i had to harvest yesterday because it finaly got below -2 deg C, and i diden't want to lose more of the crop than i already did.

they will make it through one night of -3 C, anything below that and they die. the moisture that forms on the surface of the bud (and doesn't leave, creating mold) kills the bud from the outside, and the frozen roots cant bring up nutrients, killing the plant from the inside.

I have a plant outside all summer and the weather has been crazy but last night it got down to 38 with no problems. But you don't want to keep it too cold all the time, It seems when they flower they can take cooler temps better, I noticed one that when it got cooler the trichs started to turn purple. I think they get used to where they are weather wise. Good Luck to you!

That's great info for me, I'm all worried that it will be too cold for my plant to mature by the 3rd week of October but where I am the weather is a lot milder, gets chilly in Tennessee and they still resist eh? I just don't want it to rain! An Indian summer is always nice :) I'm in the same boat as STIFFER, been a rainy season and will likely continue, I too will be at about 5/8C° (42/49F°) with maybe a rare light frost before November but that's it, should be that way in the UK depending on where you are, jeez everyone is harvesting already and I've still got 7 more weeks at least, let's hope we get some high pressure systems with sunny dryer days!!!!!!
