I was looking into lowrider or lr2 for my first seed purchase. just wanted to know how bad is the smell when flowering, how is the yield, does the auto flowering mean no 12/12 cycle to flower(i know dat sounds stupid but i just wanted to know), will the males auto flower, and the important question how is the buzz and smoke?

Theyre great lil plants bro..
Smell is strong with some plants, somewhat fruity..Other times plants will smell very little but still smoke real nice.
Yield all depends on your setup/age of the beans etc.
Yeah there is no need for a flower schedule. 18/6 is prime all the way from seed to harvest...Altho if you wanna save a lil on electricity, you can cut down to 12/12 after 4wks, without loss of yield/quality.

All lowryders auto, males and fems..around 17 days for males and 21-23 days for females. Give them as much light as possible to get good yield, also go easy with the nutes. They dont like high levels, i never use more than 1/2 to 3/4 dose.
Molasses works real well too..build up to 1 tsp per litre.
Once the cotyledon leaves have started to shrivel up and die, give it a DILUTED feed using 'grow' type nutes, and continue until it shows sex.
Then use 1/6 of the grow nutes, and slowly build up the bloom booster nutes.
Use molasses a wk after flowering starts.

The buzz is around 30 mins to 1 hr, it depends when you chop for type of buzz.
If you go at the 'suggested' 60 days its an up high, i generally find they will not be anywhere near done in 60 days and mine often go out to 75-85 dys.I chop when the trichs are 60+% amber, as it has a nice couchy effect.
Use the search button in the RIU toolbar theres a bunch of useful info available on here.. hit my profile up and check out some of the threads.

when you say "chop when the trichs are 60+% amber" do you mean the total number of trichs or the over all color of 1 trich under a scope?

when 60+% of the plants buds are amber.
Theb main cola will be ready first, chop that...leave the other lower buds floering until they too are 60% amber, the chop those..
But thats just how i personally like them....If youre after a more'heady, up' high, chop when the trich are 70% cloudy 30% clear.

dont even waste your time with lowryder its a discusting strain and the lowest quality buds ive ever seen... if you want an early flower plant get sweet tooth or hash plant or chronic... dont even waste your time with lowryder

i'd have to agree that the original lowryder is a poor yielder, but LR2 and the other crosses are dcent yield and quality..i'm averaging 2oz per plant, which is far from bad.

I've just started an automatic ak47 grow and at 16 days it sure looks like it could end up yielding about 2oz. For a guy who has absolutely no space for a proper grow, it's looking like a decent gig, to be honest. 2oz will last me a good while and if I end up with more girlies it could easily turn into plenty enough for what I would ever want. If I had the space I'd do a proper strain, but for now it's a fair option.

I don't know what the original LR/LR2 are like, but this thing is growing like crazy. I have it under 24h and will probably keep it that way until the end. I've staggered my plants, but the oldest one showed sex at 13 days - just a few lovely white pistils shooting out from the girl. Under the HPS (400W Sunmaster Super HPS Deluxe) it's not stretching at *all* and it's branching like mad - I can't imagine how dense this thing is going to be when she's ready for the knife. Started in jiffy pellets and then dropped them right into pure bagged compost. I've started 1/4 strength nutes (Ionic Soil) and otherwise just water and a bit of epsom salts as I've got really hard water (a good reason for the compost as it's a touch on the acidic side).

A few pics attached - smoke report in ~5-6 weeks :blsmoke:
