Okay so Pacific Gas and Electric Company has a HPS fact sheet that says commercial HPS don't naturally range much due to metals involved. It could be 1900-2200k. WHITE sodium lamps are 2600k-3000k and they require electronic circuits (usually external ballast) to reach that temp. I don't think there's a quick fix here.

Since I have an MH ghetto light, all I can be sure of is that it's between 3200-5000k (MH factsheet from Pacific Gas). I'll stick with that because I know its better than the 2000k.

It's 3000k in color. I'll use this for flowering and leave whatever commercial bulb is in there for veg. I think it's worth a shot anyway. <---Please comment.

I also didn't raise the plant near the light for intensity during the veg or flower phase. I'm hoping that the combination of higher light intensity for the plant (closer to light), a better tuned flowering bulb, and nutrients actually made for weed (i used moon dust for the whole grow) will give me a much more successful harvest.

Sorry about posting all my research as i was doing it. Please give me some input/ I might put this up in the grow room section.

This is my first almost successful grow. I had a great little lemon haze in a pc going but I had to move it and it was doomed from then on. I'm using a full tower case with a 50watt MH light (no idea of color spectrum) that i bought from sunlightsheds. It has a 1 gallon tupperware tank with 2, three inch net pots. The air pump is sub par, but it's fine for the one plant i'm doing. I accidentally kept the seedling in complete darkness for 4 days causing a major stretch so i tied it down with some yarn. This definetely had some effect on its size. Soon after it recovered from that, I burned it with moondust. It is the only nutrient i'm using (experimental). I had to see if it was possible to grow with the all in one shit that came with the box. I'll probably use it for veg and use bloom nutes for bloom next time. Now you are seeing it at 56 days old and completely recovered from the nute burn.

I have the ph at 6.
The TDS reads 425ppm and the plant is responding well.
The smell is delicious. I have a bamboo charcoal insert that contains it pretty well.

damn mine grew over 24 in.

OK, grow is done. I guess the weight was about a quarter oz. It's all gone too, thanks to a graduation party, but it was well worth it.
