Lowryder 2 indoor/ outdoor.

Sup guys,

One of my mates bought 3 feminised Lowryder2 seeds but his grow site got annihilated by moles so he donated the seeds to me free of charge.

I decided to take them on light heartedly and don't plan on pouring money into this grow. I germinated them 2 days ago and planted them in some miracle grow compost. The sprouted this morning:



Bought a cheap 400W HPS lamp off ebay just to give some more light when the sun is too high in the sky for the windowsill.

I am going to buy some flowering nutrients and that is it really. I've already got some larger pots to put them in, and got some more compost. I found some miracle grow nutrients in the garage and wondering if they will do more harm then good during weeks 2 - 4.

both sprouted the same day and been under the exact same conditions but you can see one is double the size. The larger pant appears to be bending in order to face the sunlight as it rises over the house. Hopefully when my HPS gets here I can straighten that stem out!

use more perlite in your soil, mj loves good drainage

Ok, so when I transplant them into bigger pots, mix some perlite in there?

Although they are fem seeds, there is a possiblity of them herming or being male isn't there?

The size difference of these two plants is crazy.

i'm on my 1st time grow with thease. same as you in and out. just got 3 outside budding like crazy and 3 little ones 1 week old.
Some of the talk about thease seeds is they don't hermie(i know don't believe everything you read). Both my sets of 3 have had 1 small one, but she is the one that has most bud.
One thing i would sugest is when you repot your girls get the biggest pots as i had mine were in 9" pots and the roots are hanging out the bottom.

Nice, you should get a grow journal going or at least post a few pictures in here. I've got some 12" pots to transplant them in but thinking about getting some bigger.

lil' 1s look good.
I have put my little ones in 12" pots, so will have to see but bigger the better.
also if the baby is a bit streched when you repot you can dig it in a bit lower so less stem is showing.

Nice man. Have you got yours growing outdoors? The pots I have are only 9" so I am going to get some bigger ones and some perlite tomorrow, then I'll transplant these mothers.

If I smell right over mine I can already detect a skunky odour. Considering making a box, with an intake hole with an external fan blowing in, then put a DIY carbon filter at the top with no fan? The weather isn't good atm and I really don't wanna sacrifice these babies to the elements.

we been lucky down south. the girls have been outside almost all the time. We got a little sun trap of a garden/yard and it's been perfect.

Yeh that skunky smell starts earlier than i expected, don't know about you but i started to get a bit excited when i got my first whiff..then couldn't stop smelling em.

Did you build your box? you got them repotted yet.

I have decided against the box. I saw a 60x60x120 tent on ebay and was very tempted but then with a fan and filter it would all get a bit pricey. As I'm not gonna sell it's a lot of money just for my grow.

I think I will just move them outside in a few weeks but we haven't been having the same weather you have, obviously! Haha, I know what you mean, I've been smelling mine a lot.

Day 12:

Repotted into 12" pots, with organic MC compost and perlite. Two confirmed females, size difference is as evident as ever. The larger plant had such a long stem that I decided to LST slightly.

I got 2 x Lowryder 2's about 2 weeks from finishing (check my grow journal) I used a 400W HPS for flowering & they have
been in 6L square pots all the way through, mine were regular seeds I got lucky with the 1st two I germed..bot Females.. I do believe Fem seeds have a higher rate of Herming due to the way Fem's seeds are produced.. I have had mixed results with Fem'd seeds I seem to get more lucky with regular seeds funnily enough.. I have had LOADS of Fem seeds that have hermed on me..but have more stable results with Reg seeds..Will be checking up on your grow.. good stuff m8

Holy shit man, you have some frosty leaves on those ladies! I actually read your journal the first time I came to this site and you were just starting it. I was just looking at the comparison between the two plants and yours seem 3-4 days ahead of mine. Maybe because you were using vegging nutes? How much did you pay for your nutes? The vegging and blooming ones.

They are showing hairs so I'll just hope to hell that they don't hermie on me. You reckon you'll get an oz off each plant?

Cheers man...Yeah lookin at them now, I reckon at least an oz per plant..
For the first 15/21 days I used 'Formulex'then swithed to full strength 'Canna Coco A+B' from day 21 onwards..
I got my nutes from ebay for 15 quid inc delivery (Canna Coco A+B) + Canna Rhizotonic which was an extra 8 quid..

Went in to give them a watering today, and the smell is really beginning to develop so I just ordered one of those Gonzo Odor Eliminator's as they have been proven to work in many grow rooms with little plants. Cost me a small fortune to ship it from the US but a worthy investment if it means keeping them inside. Considerably less than a tent w/ exhaust + carbon filter combo!

weathers turned a bit shit down here so mine are in the greenhouse.

my 2nd lot have just shown sex and its 2 boys and a girl. not a problem as hopefully plenty of seed for next year.

I'm just about to harvest 1, she is in darkness for 24h then it's chopping time. its mad but i have become quite fond of them, still should get a good few smokes off her.

just lookin at those Gonzo Odor Eliminator's, they look good do you know if they work well? They are reuseable as well.
I have thought about a closet grow in the winter but we will see.
It's freakin addictive this growing malarky...

Not long now.. 18 days or so until harvest.. one of them is prob ready now, but will give it it's recommended duration..I took a little popcorn bud sample off the very bottom & am speed drying it (I got no weed!) I cannot beleive how strong the smell is! I have grown plants 3 times as big as these with fatter buds that didn't smell half this pungent..That Gonzo filter will be a must-have m8!

Yeh the weather is shit up here as well, just heard on the radio, you southerners are due some sun tomorrow so let em soak it up! Make sure you give us a smoke report! I imagine them to be very indica but LR2 is LR1 (indica) crossed with Santa Maria (sativa) hoping for something nice inbetween! I know what you mean though, I am already planning my second grow, hopefully some of those Jock Horror Auto seeds. Enjoy the harvest brother.

I had another look at your journal - they look delicious! Patience is a virtue though, will definitely be worth the wait. What odor control are you using? Carbon filter?

Seen a lot of reviews on growing forums and the general concensus is that with a small number of plants (less than 4), it will completely absorb the smell in a room. Just got an email saying it won't arrive until August 12, shit, thats about 35 days away, they'll be well into flowering by then, uh oh. Gonna have to maybe try the febreze odor eliminator in the meantime. When I go in their now, the whole room smells skunky. It's a good smell but knowing it's going to keep getting stronger is worrying, haha.

hehe.. yeah they sure do look tasty my man!.. I use ONA 'Fresh Linen' gel for odour control (ebay for about 12 quid) and I just use a ruck fan to suck all the stinky air outside (no carbon filter) BUT.. I may use one for the next grow coz my inline ruck turns off when the light goes out & that pungent skunky smell starts filling the room again after about 10 mins..I will probably make my own though coz they cost an arm & a leg to buy new
