Lowryder Grow Question

UPDATE: Not much different has gone on, but I am lowering the light cycle and my babies are starting to stink. By tomorrow, they will be on 12:12 which will hopefully make them flower. I heard that if you force lowryder to flower, you can put them back on 18:6 without making them revert to veg.

doesn't matter what light cycle you give them, they'll flower under 24 hours of constant light. they only flower when they're ready, you can't force them to start like other strains. that's the nature of an automatic flowerer.

how many weeks since you started them? my diesel ryders are at 2.5 weeks tomorrow.

Shit... Week four or five? I lost track. Still NO FLOWERS... What the fuck? For something that is supposed to finish in 80 days and is already on about day 35 or 40 it is kind of scary to see that it hasn't flowered yet. Of course, two are about 5 days ahead of a couple of smaller ones, but I dont know. Im kind of thinking it may take 12 weeks instead of 8. Might as well be growing regular herb and forcing it to flower early at this point D:

The fucked up thing is that they are all at least 8" and the biggest is probably 14", which is right in the range of normal loryder size. WHY WONT YOU FLOWER!!??

Sorry but 9 weeks from seed won't happen (not even close), like I said earlier the only really false claims lowryder makes is finishing time. Mine stayed really short and one thing I forgot to give credit for is the density you can achieve with this strain, the potency isn't up to par with any of the well known great strains but it does stay short and makes some dense nugs. I didn't like the smell or taste and the high wasn't up to my standards but hey for someone with extreme height conditions this is perfect.

both look real good mayng. but that purple. ughhh. looks delicous....

you can flower um when you want...... its better to wait till you get the pre-flower. lets you know your plant is strong enough to handle creating some piff. lol

i just stuck mine under 24/7 light and they auto flowered dont trust what you read about the flower times and yeilds there way to much to factor in.. so go for the long term.. mine took longer then 4 or 5 weeks to flower and im on about week 8 now and still flowering probably until xmas or longer

Yeah. Mine just flowered in about the middle of week 5... Luckily I got two males and two females, since I am just breeding to get some more viable seeds this time (thinking about the really long term). Only 4 sprouted out of 10. It must have been a rough ride from amsterdam. Sadly enough, the biggest, stinkiest one is a male.

my males flowered at 3.5 - 4 weeks, the females at 4.5 - 5 weeks. I got the same ratio, 1:1, that you did. yeah the males grow faster and get stinky sooner, but the females catch up quickly and the smell gets A LOT worse than the males. my fems are smellier than the males were a week ago, and they look much prettier. I can almost find the faint odor of diesel lingering after a good whiff.

So sorry it took long to to reply. I haven't had computer access in about a month. I harvested all of the pollen from the males and removed them. In the course of two weeks I got about a teaspoon of pollen and cut it with some flour. After that point, I pollenated every last white hair that came up until I ran out of pollen. Now (about another two weeks later) I have harvested my first six seeds. However, I was stupid and harvested four of them too early, so I am left with two hard, black, viable seeds and four green duds. I see about 50 or so on the way, so I should not have to order from amsterdam for about another year!

At the end of the day, however, let me just say that Lowryder is not all its cracked up to be in terms of the time frame. It is looking closer to 12 weeks instead of eight. It could probably be done sooner outside or under better lights though.

In terms of height and growing in low-light conditions, however, it is awesome. It does not stretch and is very, very easy to take care of. Has a slight citrus smell but is otherwise quite "unnoticeable". And BEFORE anybody whines about its low yield... lowryder would not be lowryder if it had a high yield. Small plant= small yield. It is perfect for the grower with little space and sea of green, otherwise, go with something more potent like Hindu Kush!
