Is there noticable signs we are headed to autocracy?

Brennan gets his clearance revoked for obvious political reasons...

Maintaining it is for the sake of our National Security, for those moments all partisanship needs ceasing and the govt needs the assistance of those who dealt with related issues in past, its not there for benefit of the clearance holder.

So who is he punishing?

This is alarming, its a walk towards autocracy in broad daylight and because its being done so brazenly folks arent even noticing...

The old timbers on the old USS Republic of The United States of America are creaking... our existance as we have known it is under as much threat as shes ever been internally since the days of the Union and the Confederates..

I was hoping we could survive for voters to do it... but idk if we have that long, Impeachment needs to happen STAT! Even tho that means POTUS Pense

Autocracy doesn't ever happen. Dear Leader is only a puppet who gets to live large, but is constantly in the spot light. For some that'd be a dream, but for most, including me, I'd consider that position a curse.

This was predictable. I opined about it in the "what would a Trump Presidency look like" thread. His attack on the press is a large part of his attempt to silence critics. One cant blame him for doing it - it is a tried and true tactic for autocrats and he has consistently surrounded himself with people who have worked with autocrats around the world. He is clearly testing the waters here in America and will continue to push the envelope. What really matters is how much the people will let him get away with. The acquiescence of the entire Republican party is surprising to me - I never thought he would get this far, but he has. The only way this will fail is at the ballot box. It is my sincerest hope that those people who Trump claims "will never be ignored again" are kicked to the curb and marginalized forever.

Very well put. I agree hes gotten much further than would seem possible, but hes used the frog in boiling water theory taking the slowly heat it up route starting in someways decades back...

If this all came at once there would be people in the streets today...

I too gave the gop more credit than they deserved on being not just spineless but outright enablers...
