LST and Trimming.... help please!! :)

This is my first plant EVER and i'm stress growing it under a 600 watt HPS bulb. We started it in soil on a 12/12 flowering cycle watering it w/ a water and TechnaFlora nutrients mix. We're not re-vegging either. It took off!!! at 2 weeks it was at its 4th node, so we started LST about a week in. That made it take off again, streching about an inch overnight. Then i trimmed up the fan leaves and we gave it a week long nutrient flush. Next, we switched it over Fox farm nutrients, which it loved even more. It's now at its 7th node. The last 2 days we supplemented CO2 pucks and it grew another 2 inches last night. Its one its 7th node now at 4 weeks old. I'll post some pictures when i can. BUT the only dilemma i have is what trimming method to use :-| So! i've come here to find some expert input!

Whats the best trimming method to use with LST?? and is it still safe to trim at 4 weeks when you started it in flowering stage?? Does anyone know of interesting shape stress growing? i heard of the knot but am not practiced enough to attempt it

Thanks! :weed:

Well thanks for all the replies  went with the usual topping method. Going a little abstract on the LST, but my little beauty is loving it.

depends on strain i know the mr nice strain you can top multiple times throughout flower and harvest more buds. i think i learn that from either soma from soma seeds or jorge cervantes.

well from what I have heard around here is not to trim fan leave and no nutes when starting them off. All to there own though. LST as much as you want... you can lst in flower cycle no problems as thats what I had to do as they started to out grow my box.

How r the bud sites looking? Is scrog a option?
I would recommend scrog with more lst training and I'm sure ur screen will fill in just fine

i trim all the way up to harvest so if a top is being shaded ill remove a fan leaf or even some of the bud leaf but i try to leave as much as i can cause the fan leaves still produce energy that goes into making fatter buds eh! check out my album for a look at my first ever lst scrog and here is a shot of a smaller bud that's been lollypopped. But trimming up until harvest takes away from overall potency and yield weight

Neither LST or topping are scientific methods...if you remove a piece off the plant it will grow 2 in to replace the one you took...if you bend the plant over, it will start to grow straight up again...simple.

I don't worry about bud sites being blocked...I would rather have a bunch of fan leaves in front of the light blocking the buds, because it is the leaves that "feed" the light to the buds...so even if leaf is blocking a bud site, it is still feeding another site most likely...I don't want to take from one bud to give to another..so...I just kinda of trim for shape, and let the plant figure out how best to use the leaves it has to get the light it needs.

I am somewhat confused by your post as well...so you are wanting to LST and scrog an already flowering plant?...I mean as long as it is early flower that is alright, but the if you want too long you end up just having weird shaped buds that are no larger than they would have been without the training...

We started it as a seed on a flowering cycle. Though the buds started to form at regular timing, and it actually came out really well for a first time plant. Still trying to upload pics
