Its kinda hard to see in the picture, but if you look close you will see my left finger is pointing at my main cola and my right finger is pointing at one of the side branches that will soon become a cola. My problem is i have a side branch like on either side of my main shoot and i want to lst it all the way around the bucket. What should i do with the little side branches so i dont totally block them from the light?? Would it make sense to prune the big fan leaves for more light penetration???

1) don't prune too many fan leaves
2) you can prune off lower small shoots to direct more energy up the shoots you want to direct the energy to
3) you might want to look into topping it to make more colas and LST them down around the pot :)

i'm not so much worried about directing energy. LST gives you many colas as well does it not?? i dont believe in topping as it causes alot of unecessary stress imo. I would top if i was using and HID or outdoors, but being under cfl and t5 the plant is growing slow enough. It doesnt need help growing slower. My issue is light penetration. my plants are getting sooooo bushy and over run with fan leaves i am noticing all the side branching stretching sooooo much to reach the outside of my canopy. They already are LST'd but i want to continue until i fill out the hole bucket and have a nice round bush

nice strain you got there yeah prune some of those fan leaves otherwise what you will have to do is keep your LST job up and when it comes times to harvest your going to have to trim away the top and let the remaining bud go for 1-2 more weeks to mature due to the lack of penetration it was getting from growth above it.

Bushy ... Yep! very nice she will stretch out during flowering...I would not cut anything.... those bigger leaves are what is taking in light for plant to grow

i had a feeling. I mean it makes sense. Thats how photosynthesis works right?? i think i'm not gonna worry about cutting anything ijust always fee guilty putitng them into flower when there are so many premature little branches cause they cant get the light thru the canopy lol
