LST or SCRog? Both?

I have two clones, one is a blue cheese indica and the other I believe is some form of satvia (the leaves are much thinner and longer then the BC)... The satvia is growing much faster then the indica which I've read is usual. I've only had them for about a week and a half, they are on 18/6 as of now and were planted on March 31st. I've been LST'ing since they have been in my possession but I'm thinking of also SCRogging them at about 10" high once I fill the lower surface area..

So my question is: should I scrog them as well as LST or just LST because this is my first grow? The satvia like plant seems to look like it would have a hard time growing upwards since I've LST'd the main stem down... Is this normal or do you think it will be fine?

I'd do LST your first time around to see how much u can train the plant and get a feel for it ya know. but u cant go wrong with a nice SCROG i do LST now if u check my thread i got some nice pics of LST. but u def get a better yield with SCROG it does take a little more experiance when it comes to getting an even canopy its hard to water a scrog evenly unless ur in DWC...good luck

Top them... wait a week... set up SCROG... intertwine new growths through scrog... Put into flower... Many Kolas.

Well, since i've already set them up for LST should i just continue with that? Or LST them then let them grow up 8 inches into the screen? I was kinda trying to avoid High Stress tactics such as topping. This IS my first grow after all..

Continue with LST for now, Topping is high stress, but it works very, very well. Top and SCROG are 2 very useful tactics to bush out plants. The stress for topping is about 1-2 weeks depending on feeding/temps/transpiration rates etc. But its great because it forces the plant to grow out its lateral branches wide. Hormones.

well if ur gunna do a SCROG u need to top those bitches man..just do it early and stress wont matter.
photo(5).JPG u can fill a spot up pretty good with just LST..thats only 4 plants at 5 weeks old and its my first grow.

Nice grow man, topping is really important for large yields in small spaces. It allows those Apical dominant auxins to move out more laterally, causing a supercharged amount of growth in the side branches.

agreed even tho i dont understand that lingo lol but ya man i got at least 5-6 main tops on each of those plants. my actual "top" is not even the biggest branch :eyesmoke:
