LST with sprial shape: When should I initiate flowering

Hey folks,

due to my small grow space with limited height (max. 60cm/2ft available from base to canopy), I want to try out LST and let the plant grow into a spiral shape (see attached picture).

Do you know at which point of the curve I should initiate the flowering? I assume it would be perfekt tp finish the spiral curve a couple of days before the stretch is finished (so the top of the main stem can grow upwards). What are your opinions?

Another thing I'am not 100% confident is the diameter size of the spiral shape. I can fill a space up to 60cm²/2ft² in my cab. So If you look again at the top-view pictures, the diameter of the spiral curve could be for instance 40cm/1.5ft (including 10cm of padding to the edge).
Is this in general to much or can I let it grow as big as my cab has space available?

Cheers, Hydronerd

I think it's really going to depend on your growth rate. The spiral will take a while to grow out. You'll have plenty of time to get a feel for when it will be coming full circle, and when to flip the light's.

It depends on how big of a plant you want to grow. Remember, once in flower, the plant will grow another third of its size. So once the plant is at a size you like, put it in flower.

Lol that seems a bit excessive for the payoff but I could be totally wrong. Why not just top?
After every topping the plant needs to recover (which will slow down the growth) and if you're doing SCROG it's also a lot of work to arrange the buds. Results might be the same though.

Same thing as to what you're planning, some people call that technique bonsai and that's HST. You will be doing a lot of bending and pinning and that would be stressful to the plant. It's growth wont be as rapid as left untouched.

Long and short of it is... Just grow and develop the canopy of your grow area. There are numerous training techniques all good. "Wall to Wall" big ass leaves and plenty of light is key to success.
