Lumens, Gnats, and questions from a Kitty Cat

 I am currently growing with 4 daylight 26watt(1550 lumens each) Cfls, and two 20watt Cfls towards the base of the plants. I just switched out four 20watt Cfls for the 26watt ones, and I noticed a difference in brightness in my grow space immediately!

I have six plants (after trashing one male) in a tall old bookshelf under these lights, that have been in flowering for 4 days now, after vegetating for 2 months. Two are female, and the others have not shown me yet.

I guess I was just wondering if I should expect sudden results from the light change or not? or has anyone had luck growing with these same lights?

I also had a terrible gnat problem, that has gotten under control with some sand on top of my soil, and a dishsoap/water mixture. :bigjoint:

you only added 24w to your grow, it will make a difference but nothing jaw dropping. not trying to be rude just truthfull.

really sounds like you have way mor eplants than your lights can grow effectively. you may want to try and finangle some more CFL's the 26w 2700k bulbs are fairly cheap i was getting 4 packs of them at wal mart for around 3 bucks. you want to aim for around 75w of actuall wattage per plant.

I agree on needing more light! but my plants are growing into the lights and getting burnt, so i'm figuring ways around that, and need to go to the store. I'll post some photos soon in a journal! I didn't expect a big change, but a noticeable one to a closely watching eye would be nice.
