m39 was favoured a lot by hells angels in canada afaik. probably because it had a high yield and could be grown quickly. i used to sell marijuana back in the day & the stuff i got could be traced back to the HA, and it was m39. shitty sprayed weed that nobody wanted, but it was cheap af n profitable. my buddy would take a bus from nova scotia to quebec, get 30lbs of it and bus back every so often. good times

Lol I think that was meant to be a joke...? I couldn't ever see 39 days being long enough...I think it was pulled early though, probably like 7 weeks flower at the earliest. Those buds were sooo rock solid from what I remember, it just tasted like crap, smelled like tea, and I found it to be a week, anxiety invoking high.
Ha! Counting the days… I’m on 39. I’d say at least another 10 days for optimal gland maturity. I could cut these down today for rosin. Smelling dank. I really took a shot in the dark with this strain. I’m somewhat a beginner so I wanted the simplicity but in also liked the idea of a common strain from my early days… The 6-7 week is also attractive for the one side of my canopy while I wait for my 10-14 week sativas to finish.
Ok, if any of you guys live in canada I'm sure you have come across a strain called M39 I will not even smoke the stuff if I can't find anything I hate it hands down, but I have never seen a breeder that I deal with or realy know of anyone who grows it but yet its always around all the time no matter what, so what I am asking is where did this strain originate from and or who is the breeder the myth/story around here is that it was government test weed for the canadian government and they couldent grow for shit and a few locals picked it up for its impressive flowering time of 39 days and this not an auto strain it has been around since I was in grade 9 high school and itts still around to this day, anyone who has grown this strain or has any info on why its is so absolutely shitty I would appreciate it, I have no plan on growing it and don't realy know why people do other than for commercial purposes, thanks RIU happy 420 stay lit.
I’m on day 39…. Lol. Probably another 10 days to go at least. I could pull them now for rosin… maybe.
I believe these 2 will be mediocre plants. Probably 1/2 lb per each. I’m not going to rave though… I grabbed these seeds because I wanted something to remind the of the 90s. I knew better… but nostalgia got the best of me. Because I’m not growing commercially… the time spent might just give me some decent smoke. These girls didn’t bulk up like expected. They will yield the least of all 5 ladies I have right now. They do smell fantastic… I have one in veg right now and after that I won’t be cracking anymore seeds for a while. I might even throw them outside next season. For me they actually aren’t yielding enough to turn the meter. Maybe it’s the genetics but my other girls are much bigger. Both phenos from my fruity pebbles are probably twice the girth, and my sativa gold is probably 3 times the size. I can wait the additional 3-4 weeks to pull another 1/2lb off each plant. Oh, and these 2 were super finicky… again… maybe genetics… but too temperamental for what ya get out of it. So M39 will only be a winner for me if the stone brings that nostalgic feeling and taste I’m hoping to add to the vault.
Next up…. 90s Hawaiian?

Breeder times are simply a general guideline and are almost always weeks longer than stated times
My last 10 -14 weeker went 22
Just a heads up

The Chinese grow this weed in southern Ontario, they open cucumber farms and pump this shit out. They don't dry the weed properly(usually on bails of hay) and I'm sure they aren't growing it out till it's ready either. The reason it's always around is because they grow tons of it and sell it cheap.

For sure… lots of things to consider. Breeders could still be using HID… and I’m sure my LEDs slow me down.
and yes… my 2nd grow one of my sativas turned into a 21 week wait… but that one pulled just under 20oz. Well worth the wait.
but even this morning… I’m looking at my canopy and the m39 smell super dank… but they really aren’t worth the space… Again, for me it’s the nostalgia behind it… when I finally started growing I was happy that I can pick what I want in my stash… but I was a little anxious and made a few silly selections for strains as well as sources for seeds. My m39 are great seeds… just not my preference of herb. I do smoke sativa 95% of the time… but shiva also holds a place on my heart and these buds certainly have that aroma.

'cambode'
Haven't seen it around for years
Market used to be flooded with it, all diff qualities. Worst I seen was some crappy stuff covered in some kind of sugar or koolaid...

this weed was everywhere for years in kitchener ontario in the late 90's early 00's

the smell is nothing but scotch tape and mothballs, very rarely will it smell like skunk, and there were many versions of it over the years

almost always popcorn nugs that were bone dry (although could often be found wet), light mint green, miniaturized almost as if picked early, looked like they were tumble manicured, and i kid you not hard as plastic and nearly as smooth as marble they were so dense

became soooooooo generic after the years went on. although sometimes it could be potent there was not much character to the high

what was worse though was when og kush took over after that in the early 00's and stayed for years into the early 10's. it was the first time i found weed that could knock you on your butt while at the same time bore you to death. was a drag to get high off that weed except for wake and bake maybe
