Macro / Micro Light Cycles

I was curious if anyone has experimented with their light cycles like will a 24/12 cause a plant to flower; if so does the extra light cause extra growth. What would happen if you did micro light cycles like 6/3, would it cause plants that take 10 weeks to mature finish faster. Anyone who has done this I would be interested in your results.

The plants require 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness to flower. Micro bursts of light/dark will keep the girls in veg.

I've experimented with an 16/12 cycle (it's the easiest thing to set up on a digital, 7-day timer) for a couple of grows. I suspect the girls did switch to flowering a bit sooner, but honestly it didn't seem much different.

Where I've seen the biggest differences: more light, switching to higher quality nutrients, and more air flow. ;)

I have never tinkered with the light cycles like that myself, but have seen more than a few threads on this and I have never seen any noticeable benefits. I have always wondered about a 24/24 cycle before might that work? Or produce better results? I would assume not though since the plants are receiving the same amount of light and darkness still. A good test run would be fun to see though. Cheers.

I have noticed that after switching to a 12/12 and removing a male to a 18/6 grow tent that it developed male "buds" MUCH faster than the females on the 12/12. Not sure if it was due to the increase in light or it being male, but if you could induce flowering and then switch back to 18/6 then back to 12/12 etc. to keep getting growth spurts it might result in an overall larger yield.

I read about somebody reducing the hours of each day, can't remember the exact numbers (light + dark = less than 24h) and he harvested around 1-2 weeks earlier but the yield was also less than with a normal light cycle.
