Mg is also locked out by low ph if that is possibly your problem, kinda vague :p. When I am deficient in Mg I grab the bottle that says MG on it and add some to my water.

make sure your ph is on point before trying to fix the problem!! if its off and you have lockouts things are going to get alot worst for you if you add calmag. fix the problem before you fix the issue get you ph to where it need to be. quick easy fix is the epsom salt but i use calmag+ works great have not seen any problems since i started using it

I also use cal/mg. gH cal mag ironically lowers my Ph which I actually like because it makes my RO water perfect, but I always found it interesting because MG is better absorbed at higher ph.

check pH first, then add something with mag if pH is ok. if pH is not ok, then fix it and wait a few days.

check pH of runoff. not just pH of what your adding in

Haha i just noticed how your avatar looks like he's contemplating what you posted...

Epsom salt works well though I don't feel 1 tablespoon per gallon quite neccessary as that is alot of salt. I would go half that
and see how it looks in 3 days

PS. I did a test and mixed 1 tablespoon with 1 gallon of water and it brought the ppm up to something crazy high(I can't remember exactly how high but it was scary)

Edit: Maybe go even less than half. If you have an EC meter add epsom salt to your water until you reach 200ppm then add your base nutes

Just a hunch but I'm thinking the guy who wanted the quick fix for mg deficiency doesn't have an ec meter handy ;p. In regard to the high PH I wonder if anyone ever jacked with the PH to let some nutes in then brought it down again. It my understanding MG gets absorbed more and more the higher PH goes, even like 8-9+, and several nutrients have the same characteristics. While I'm not recommending that, I wonder if it would be beneficial to take PH up to like 7-7.5 for a day or so, then bring it down again.
