I was recently looking into generators to try and keep down power costs on lighting etc, i was wondering if there is any potential joy to be had in Magnetic power?
using magnets to operate a flywheel which would spin around and could generate power once put through a generator, in theory this sounds like the saving of the century? or am i missing something? anyone have any knowledge or previous experience to contribute?
many thanks

It's the same principle they use to make roller coaster cars move, only here it turns an armiture.

I know a kid who using something like this in his garage workshop. It was years ago he showed me the setup but I didn't even realize what I was looking at.

I heard that you can use some strong magnets to throw off you electric meter somehow. Anybody ever heard such a thing?
