Retractable magnifier with 21mm lens, 20x zoom and LED lighting is sufficient to observe the plant to know when they are ready to harvest ??

I use a 30x jewelers loupe. You can buy them for less than $5.00 with free shipping on the internet.

You may be able to get away with 20x if you have good eyesight. You are just trying to determine the color of the trichromes on the plant.

snip a small sample from a leaf on the bud... and take to a desk ,or counter with better light....
