magnifying glass or microscope?

Ok so my first grow is coming along and I want to go out and by either a magnifying glass or a microscope.. I live in southern califorina and would like to know where to go and which one to buy.. Any Idea's?

30x jewelers loupe or radio shack has a 60-100x illuminated microscope for 12 bucks. I just picked up the scope today. Supposed to work pretty well from what I've read. I cant use it til the lights come on this evening. Gl

Is it really that hard to do a search for such things on the web?

I'm a crusader on this. You can get good vintage school microscopes on ebay cheap. I recently got a like new Tasco for $15. The difference is amazing. You get a wide field of view and it's like walking in a forest of trichs. Search vintage microscopes, look for Bausch & Lomb, Spencer and Tasco. Ask if they are working and need anything. One of the best investments I ever made. Here's an example of one up now:

I've collected an array of scopes to admire those glistening trics.......for a simple quick look, the 30x lighted jewelers loupe ($3.60/ Amazon) is great! But when checking for harvest timing....ie, seeing trics well enough to SEE the cloudy or amber, whichever you harvest by, you'll need the 420 scope.....60-100x....I use a 10x when determining sex early.......
All are very cheap and open up an amazing world of sites previously unseen.... I sometimes spend 15-20 minutes just looking.....MJ is a beautiful plant and brings you a treat if treated well....

When you use a glass or loupe, it works SO MUCH BETTER when you shine a light on what youe looking at. Thats what makes the 420 scope nice.
Biggun, You can get almost the exact same 420 scope from radio shack for 1/2 the price.
